Mishti initiates the act of keeping contact through the barring door, with the string/thread. The fact that even through her extremely unstable mental and emotional state, she still manages to gain strength with Abir's words to maintain that connection with the one she needs, the one she loves and the one she holds on to dear life.
The biggest plus-point of this track is Abir's unwavering, strong stance along side her. He is giving her that full attention, space, support, warmth and guidance, which he has learned from his devastating mistake of their break-up. As a result of their break-up, Mishti immediately sank into her whirlpool that 'sab log mujhe chodke chale jaate hein' and that she doesn't deserve love. Although she kept belief in their pyaar and had faith in Abir's feelings, her words when Abir finally revealed the reason for their break-up gives those real insights to her anxious heart - "main sahi thi, mera pyaar sahi tha...you don't hate me"
Deep down she always had that little fear that 'what if' what if Abir really has broken off, hates me and doesn't love me back anymore, what if he really did leave me?
That's why we often see her ask him the same question over again. She is still coming to terms with her reunion with Abir. She needs these verbal affirmations to settle the constant fight between her mind and heart.
"tum mera saath ho na?" / "tum mere saath doge na?"
Abir abruptly breaking their rishta with no proper reason, re-opened that wound he himself had applied medicine to (in Mishti's mind and heart). That's why it's so important and beautiful to see him take a firm stand, protect her like a bodyguard this time around - "uske dahl ban kar"
That's why we see Mishti being able to peek out of her shell, the support and love Abir has showered her with over the torturous 3 months, is gradually allowing her to let go again, and take these little, small initiatives like passing the dori under the door. i.e taking the (first) steps to develop stronger and deeper connections.
