It's more than Mahabharata..but the casting is really out of line..No one except Mr.vikram is apt for its cast..I had read the novel more than 4 times and it needs more thravindar faces than these people! It's such a dreamy novel. It travels around the entire south including Sri Lanka and it's about chozan's dynasty. So if it could interests northern audience is highly doubtful and omg the casting is really really wrong! Hope this movie never happens...

its a disaster in Tamil too because we felt like as in Ramayana even in Ravan they failed to say who and what like the real raavanan was!! This version is to say Raavan alone is not Raavan and even Raam shall be a raavan at times..if one ask ,had that point reached anyone's heart it's a big NO..why because the casts failed to impress us as the character..Vikram was fantastic but did that justified the role means it's a big NO..that's why casting is important. Iys not about being big on screen..

Aishwarya..really..can she ever fit the face of choza dynasty

The cast should like the following

Vikram,Vijay( As Vandiyadevan),kartik, Parvathy Menon( poonguzhali), Nayantra and Anushka

Kamalhasan/Mohanlal in the role of jayaram..

This might do wonders..but who cares and who will listen...

Bahubali succeeded more as it had a apt casting..Manirathnam always gets fascinated by this upper class faces which is why he is failing deeply down with the general audiences...Nothing to say!!

Mani Ratnam is the risk factor in this film. His last film was a blockbuster but still it's risky because he is not known for grand films. This film should have been directed by Bahubaali director. Anyways, still hoping for an epic film from Mani Ratnam.

The cast is perfect in my opinion.

Vikram is Aditya Karikalan.

Aishwarya is Nandhini. The most beautiful woman in the kingdom. Who would have justified the role other than Aishwarya.

Karthi is also perfect for Vandiyadevan. He got a blockbuster film Kaithi recently. His stardom will help the film at box office.

Trisha is a good actress. She can make a good pair with Karthi.

Jayam Ravi is also good choice as Arul Mozhi Verman.
