Yes, earlier i too felt that he has taken the challenge seriously, but not just because he wants to prove his point to his father, if u remeber when Bondita was about to go, that time there was no challenge nothing. He just thought about their marriage and his promise to take care of her after that this challenge thing came. In his subconcious mind he also thought about Bondita dialogue "yeh mere pati aur main inki patni Bondita". So, we can't say the challenge thing is only reason and Anirudh didn't show stubborn or egoistic, he gets attached to her as well that's y he didn't allow Bondita to go in a wedding. Because there was no harm if she goes ,but no he considered her as one unit. It's difficult for me to understand why he is doing so much for her. Even when he saw her first time ,he couldn't stop thinking about her. It's not clear for me as well. Might be he is doing all these thing just because of challenge, might be not.
