Chapter 16: Her life & Her Secrets

Rawte's Mansion

Dhivya got down from the cab after paying him. The security guards scanned her, once they had made sure she is harmless, so let her enter the villa. Dhivya is waiting outside the mansion's main door so that she can enter the home and finally, Kaka opened the door and looked at her in confusion.

"Madam, whom do you want to meet? Mr.&Mrs.Rawte is outside only Arjun baba is at the home." Kaka questioned her.

"Kaka, I want to meet Arjun only, Can I meet him?" Dhivya politely asked the older man.

"Yeah sure, Madam, but one minute!" Kaka asked her to wait.

Kaka motioned the Personal guard who is standing at the door and indicated him to come over.

"Sir, can you take this madam to Arjun's baba room? " Kaka asked him.

"Yeah, sure, Kaka" the guard agreed with him and this is a code word if Arjun has recognized the person, they would leave the place otherwise they would make the person leave the mansion within seconds and this was ordered by Mr.Senior Rawte after Arjun's attack.

Dhivya impatiently waiting so that she can meet Arjun soon.

"He will take him to Arjun's baba room, Madam," Kaka said looking at Dhivya. She murmured thanks to Kaka and started to walk towards Arjun's room with the guard.

In Arjun's room.

Arjun had changed his clothes after refreshing up. Now he is clad in a black full sleeve shirt with gray sweatpants. He is walking in the room in anxiety because of Riya's behavior at the hospital. He was deep in his thoughts until someone knocked on his bedroom door and he ordered the person to enter the room. He turned his head to see the person, but looking at Dhivya, he was confused.

"Dhivya?" Arjun questioned her in confusion.

"Sir, she wants to meet you!" PG introduced her.

"I knew her!" Arjun told him.

Taking this as his cue to leave the room and he left the room.

"Is she okay? What happened to Riya? You came all of sudden here!" Arjun queried her in anxiety for Riya's safety.

Dhivya is silent and testing his non-existence patience.

"Is she alright?" Arjun hurriedly asked her.

"Why do you care?" Dhivya asked him in a calm tone.

"Of course I care for her because she is.." Arjun stopped in the middle.

"Because? She is what?" Dhivya questioned him back.

"Nothing!" Arjun turned his face to another side to ease the tension and anger.

"You are just like Riya, stubborn head!. Do you know that?" Dhivya shouted at him.

"Why do you come here? And you didn't answer my questions!" Arjun reminded her to answer him and the anger is visible in his voice.

"You left her when she had asked to leave you and you stayed away from her without questions or justifications. So simply. How?. You stopped visiting her when she didn't talk to you for 3 days, just 3 days. What kind of love is this?" Dhivya yelled in anger at the end.

"Because I can't make her sadder and give her more pain! And all I gave her was pain, nothing else" Arjun equally shouted back.

"Don't you know her happiness lies with you? Don't you know she won't be happy without you? Don't you know she can't see anything in the world except you? How come someone behaves blindly despite seeing the truth?." Dhivya exclaimed in anger.

Arjun is silent without speaking, he does know that without him she won't be happy at all.

"Have you ever tried to understand her love and pain? And Have you ever thought about how come someone loves you blindly within this short span of your stay at ETF? In her love, she was ready to sacrifice her whole existence for you! Just for you! " Dhivya queried him.

Actually, this was the question that constantly nagged him many times. How could she loves him this much and she knew everything about him, but he never got the answers and he feels he is going to get the answers today that too very soon.

"Don't tell me you thought her love as infatuation or crush that would fade away soon!" Dhivya suspiciously looked at him and waiting for him to speak up.

Arjun is getting more confused now because of her hidden meaning questions.

"Do you know anything except her name?" Divya confused him more.

"No, No. I didn't know anything about Riya. Nothing at all. Except for her sister name nothing else. Not even you, Happy. But tell me why do you come here? Is Riya okay?" Arjun screamed in anger.

"But you married her!" Dhivya said in an amused tone.

Arjun looked at her stunned and whispered, "How do you know that?"

"I told you both are the same. She started loving you without knowing anything except for your name, and you have married her without knowing anything. If this is not love then what it is? Please enlighten me!" Dhivya did not answer his answers this time as well.

"Stop this mind game right now, Ms.Dhivya.Whatever you are going to say tell me directly without beating around the bush!" Arjun finally lost his temper. Because he knows she is here to reveal something which hidden from everyone.

"Will you believe me If I say that Riya loves you from the past 10 years nearly and we knew you from school and College, in fact, we studied the same school and college as you and we were your juniors in school and college "Dhivya yelled in anger.

"Will you?" Dhivya raised her eyebrows at him. When he didn't reply, she dumped Riya's diary along with some letters in his hand forcefully.

" What?"Arjun asked her in a breathless tone.

"Yes, she was a big fan of you in school days, you are an ideal person in front of her eyes. She never missed out on any football matches of yours. She simply admired you and respected you in spite of your rude and attitude-behavior. I used to tease her with your name, but she denied it saying that you're a good person nothing else until that day she realized her love for you.!" A small smile playing Dhivya's lips thinking about the golden period of their life.

Arjun is more stunned and he doesn't know how to reply to her. Looking at his confused face, she thought to clear the doubts.

"You had saved one girl at the 'Life of Night' club on Delhi right? And someone had saved you when you were injured at the lane for the next year." Dhivya reminded him of the most important incidents of their life.

"How do you know this and all? How?" Arjun shouted.

"Because that day night in the club you had saved Riya and the girl who had thanked you for saving her friend was me. And you had searched for those girls in the entire club when you couldn't spot them inside so you waited for them in the parking to see their faces especially that girl's face, Don't you?"

"Don't you?" Dhivya screamed at him.

"Yes, Yes. The entire club, the parking slot, and Whenever someone mentioned that club name and it took years for me to forget the girl's muffled crying." Arjun said in a defeated voice.

"But Why?"

Arjun is speechless and he didn't know why he was desperate to see a glimpse of that girl at that time.

Dhivya chuckled softly and whispered, "Leave that, Have you ever tried to know the person who had saved you and admitted you at the city hospital that night? Have you ever?".

This time Arjun laughed, but only the pain is dripping in his voice."Like Madman the entire city and entire hospital after I recovered. Daily I used to go to that hospital at least to get the name of the person who had saved me, but Dr.Geetha denied on face telling that she won't tell me anything about the person not even the name of the person."

Dhivya smiled at him softly and said," I told you both are the same in every aspect. She had searched you in the entire city hospitals like a madwoman because you vanished in the thin air on the next day of treatment and she doesn't have any clue about you and top of that she felt something had happened to you."

"Riya searched for me?" Arjun questioned her in an amazed tone.

Dhivya hummed in response and mumbled, "Like a madwoman for one month every nook and corner of Delhi's hospitals and sometimes outside Delhi hospitals as well."

Arjun is letting to sink Dhivya's words and the past is knocking him down to breathless.

"Do you know when she had realized her love for you?" Dhivya looked at him for answers.

Arjun is silent and nodded his head like 'NO'.

"When she lost you that day at the hospital. When your parents discharged you the next day. When she couldn't find you in Delhi hospital. That day she realized her love for you. When she felt that she won't be seeing you as a whole " Dhivya mumbled.

"How do you know everything about Riya?" Arjun queried her.

"Because I was with her every hurdle she was facing in the past and I'll be with her always to support her."Dhivya sincerely told him.

"I knew, This shouldn't be myself who is telling about Riya's life and her love for you, but I don't have any option left with me. You guys are behaving like a complete jerk. She waited for you to accept the love, but finally, she gets it, she is behaving like an idiot. I feel she never wants to tell you anything about her past where you were involved so I'm going to tell you everything and after that, it's your call to accept her love or not "Dhivya determinedly said.

Arjun looked at her confused but ready to listen to her.

"Do you think Riya met you last time at the hospital? No, it wasn't your last meet. Actually, we met you at college after 2 months of that incident "Dhivya started to tell him everything about Riya.

"What,? If Riya met me at the college, but why she didn't reach out to me?"

"She tried honestly but destiny played the game."Dhivya murmured.

At IITD in Delhi.

It's been 1 month Riya and Dhivya have joined the college and After Riya has realized her love for Arjun it was kinda difficult to keep her feelings at bay from Dhivya because they couldn't find Arjun and his whereabouts and she didn't even know whether he is alive or not. Looking at her gloomy face Dhivya sighed deeply for the nth time in these months.

"For God's sake, stop it, Riya! What you have made yourself! I can't face your dad, Pallavi Didi, and top of that my Dad. Looking at you this state everyone is questioning me girl! Especially, my dad, he is planning to send me jail thinking that I did something to you. If Arjun is in your fate you will meet him for sure, so stop this self-suffering and self-isolation."Dhivya exclaimed in anger.

"What is the next session for us?" Riya avoided her questions.

"We have a business seminar after an hour" Dhivya murmured in anger.

"We are not a business student then why this session?" Riya questioned her in irritation.

"It's compulsory for first and second-year students, Happy. So stop interrogating me and I so hate Arjun now!" Dhivya screamed at her.

"What he did now?" Riya looked at her in confusion

Because of him, our roles got reversed it was always you used to tell me the next class details in school it's not the other way around" Dhivya annoyed.

"Drama Queen, never change "Riya laughed out.

Dhivya rolled her eyes and inside she was happy looking at Riya's happy face.

~At Auditorium ~

After 1 hour every first-year and second-year students were inside the auditorium for the business seminar which is common for everyone. Dhivya and Riya settled themselves at the middle line.

Riya and Dhivya aren't paying attention to the speaker, who is greeting everyone until she announced the person who is going to take over the seminar session today.

" So let's welcome our proud student 'Arjun Suryakant Rawte' 2nd-year business student of IITD. Today he will take the seminar session. Please welcome our student Arjun" Professor proudly announced.

After hearing the name Riya laced her fingers with Dhivya and started to pray God.

"Please let him be, please let this person be my Arjun!" Riya mumbled under her breath.

The crowd applauded and Arjun enters the stage through another door with his glory. It seems he is famous in college as well just like school.

Riya is looking at his face with mixed of every emotion, but right now happiness is overpowering. To see him once blood and flesh were a dream for her after that day and finally, it happened. Happy tears streamed down her face. On the other side, Arjun is clad in a blue shirt with black jeans with neatly combed hair and he is way too handsome compared to a school with a little beard.

Dhivya is looking at Riya's face in happiness and mentally thanked God to fulfilled Riya's wish.

"He is... He is alive, He is alive! Dhivya " Riya whispered, looking at Arjun without moving her eyes from him.

"Yes, yes, he is. I told you he will be alright, and there he is!" Dhivya supported her.

During the entire time, Riya hasn't lifted her eyes from Arjun. It was after 1.30 hours Arjun completed the seminar and students screamed for appreciation especially girls.

Dhivya giggled loudly, "It seems your hero is too famous in college. So you better go and tell him that you love him and I'm sure he would accept you".

Riya looked with jealousy for the girl's part, but looked sad suddenly, "But how I can meet him now? What he will think of me. And if I get a chance to meet him, what will I say? I'm afraid now".

"Huuh, Where it comes from? Are you even serious what are you saying? This is total madness, and you're imagining things now! You want to meet him once when you felt you aren't going to meet him in this life, but when you have in front of him you are backing out now. Why?"Finally, Dhivya screamed in anger.

" If I go and tell him about my love, he will think of me as a normal girl who falls for his charms So I can't tell him now. But I will tell him at the right time and he is here only so I can tell at any time" Riya said happily.

Dhivya banged her hand on her head and uttered, God, You are a nutcase. Don't waste more time and we didn't know whether he has someone in his life or not. So better tell him everything soon."

"Yes, I will, So let's go to the canteen I'm hungry " Riya dragged her to the college canteen without meeting Arjun.

After 3 months

During this 3 months after finding Arjun in college, Riya routine is to watch Arjun in the distance and trying to approach him, but every time any obstacles would come in the way that made her stopped to reach out to him. But Arjun is oblivious of Riya's presence in his life he is concentrating on his studies and if any girl approached him he would bluntly reject them.

Something new Riya had identified about Arjun's behavior is anger. In school, people used to tell that Arjun is a rude, adamant and angry man, but in college, she glimpsed his anger many times this was one of the reasons Riya is afraid to talk to him.

"Why are you afraid of him, Riya? When are you planning to tell him?" Dhivya queried her in confusion.

" I didn't know, but I feel nervous barely going in front of him, then confessing love is the distance matter" Riya voiced out her fear of facing Arjun.

"No, you are going to tell him today, it's final, come with me " Dhivya firmly warned her and ready to drag her to Arjun.

"Not now because I'm afraid to talk to him, but soon I will tell him everything, Pakka promise" Riya backed out in fear

Dhivya reluctantly agreed with her.

During these months Riya started to notice tiny details about Arjun habits, favorite foods, and his mood swing. Just looking at his face, she could read his mood like what would make him happy, whatnot. Everything she started to learn about him. She could come with Dhivya to lunch break at the same time as Arjun's and watch him eat his favorite foods, like cutting chai, bitter gourd, and all types of Maharashtrian cuisine.

Riya's home

Pallavi is cooking food for dinner and Riya had reached home late today due to assessment. After reaching home, she started to call Pallavi's name, all the way from the lobby to the kitchen and making her in panic cause of her sudden scream.

"What happened Riyu? Why are you screaming?" Pallavi scolded her looking at Riya's puppy face.

Rita gave her one of her favorite dimple smiles and said, "Didi, I want to learn cooking!"

"Huuh" Pallavi eyes wide round.

"Are you okay? Do you have a fever? Let me run a few tests for you!" Saying this Pallavi started to run outside to get her medical box.

"Didi" Riya whined, looking at her teasing face.

"I'm serious, don't joke. I want to learn cooking!" Riya confidently told her

"But why? " Pallavi looked at her suspiciously.

"I want to help you that's all!" Riya lied to her.

"Okay, you want to help me, right?" Pallavi raised her eyebrows.

Riya nodded her head positively.

"Can you please cut these veggies?" Pallavi pointed out the plate which had vegetables.

"No, Teach me how to make cutting chai, bitter gourd, and some Maharashtrian cuisine and I don't want to cut these veggies!" Riya pointed out each recipe that's she wants to learn.

Pallavi folded both hands in front of her chest and glared at Riya for 5 mins to read her face because she is a mirror of her emotions.

"Care to explain why the particular Maharashtrian cuisine?" Pallavi sarcastically asked her.

"Because I started to like that food now happy so teach me!" Riya shouted in anger.

"But from my knowledge, you don't like tea and bitter dishes when did you start to like these things eh?" Pallavi irritated her further.

"Please Didi" Riya pleaded her with a puppy face.

"Something is fishy and I feel this has to be informed to Dad, what say?" Pallavi raised her eyebrows with a hint of teasing smile.

"Nothing is fishy. You're a doctor, not a police officer that you are interrogating me " Riya said duh tone.

Pallavi smiled inwardly looking at Riya's face and the way she explained about those dishes made her suspicious and she feels Riya is learning for someone but not ready to reveal it to her.

"Come I will teach you " Pallavi smiled at her.

"You're the best sister " Riya hugged her tightly.

It became her routine daily to learn cooking from Pallavi and especially Arjun's favorite dishes.

After1 month at Riya's home

~Riya's bedroom~

Riya is writing something in her black diary and some letters were loosely inserted into the diary. Dhivya is rolling her eyes looking at the letters.

"Don't you think? Writing letters and diaries are old ideas to express love? " Dhivya questioned while picking up one of the letters from the drawer.

"When you can't express your love to that person directly you could do it in the diary and It won't reject you unlike human at all and here no fear of rejection" Riya whispered looking up from the letters.

"Are you afraid of his rejection? " Dhivya carefully questioned her.

"Of course. He is so popular and he is so special, but whereas I'm so ordinary and nothing special in me. He is someone I looked upon like he is the sky, but I'm the earth and I feel the distance between earth and sky never filled, it always remains intact. I didn't even know whether he would accept me or not, but I will love him always" Riya softly smiled but her black orbs filled with tears.

"Why do you love him so much?" Divya queried one of her biggest doubt

"I didn't know!" Riya whispered under her breath.

Dhivya looked at her surprised and the depth of love she has on him.

"I don't know why I love him this much, maybe if I ever got a chance to confess my love Arjun has to search in my eyes and tell me 'Why do I love him this much?' " Riya said in a matter of fact tone.

"I never saw anyone like you and he is very lucky to have you!" Dhivya said in an amazed tone.

Riya smiled softly and all of sudden she remembered something slapped her head for her forgetfulness.

"Dhivya, one more thing tomorrow I'm going to Kolkata for dad's relative marriage and will be back next week only." Riya carefully uttered each word because she knew Dhivya's anger whenever she takes leave.

"What I will be bored and you're telling me this now! Why you didn't tell me before?" Dhivya whined.

"Sorry, yaar. Even I don't have any idea and it was just confirmed today that we are going and I will be back soon." Riya tried to explain to her.

"It's okay. Give me a hug " Dhivya spreads her arms and Riya smilingly hugged her.

"So when are you going to confess your love to him?" Dhivya raised her eyebrows.

"Next week. After I come back from Kolkata. I feel this is the right time if not I would lose him forever. I didn't know why I feel in this way? But it's scaring me for the past two weeks" Riya sadly muttered.

"Nothing is going to happen. Arjun will be yours only. Enjoy your stay at Kolkata"Dhivya comforted her.

"I really hope so, " Riya softly whispered.

After a week.

~At Riya's room~

Riya is getting ready to college in white Anarkali because today she is going to confess her feelings to Arjun so she is taking extra time to get ready and Pallavi looking at her with the known look, but nevertheless, she didn't intervene because when is the right time Riya would tell everything to her. If Riya is happy she is happy nothing matters more than her happiness.

~At college~

Riya is extra happy today because she is going to meet Dhivya and Arjun after a week. She is sitting in her usual spot that's in the canteen and looking at her watch repeatedly, for Dhivya's arrival.

Finally, looking at Dhivya she ran happily and hugged her. But Dhivya is looking sad and behaving weirdly.

"What happened,? You look sad! Any problem or anyone tortured you during this week? " Riya questioned her looking her.

"No...No." Dhivya tried to lie.

"No, Something is wrong with you!" Riya objected to her.

"Arjun" Dhivya stopped in the middle.

"What happened to him? He is hurt again? Where he is now?" Riya already got up from her place and tried to run out to see him.

"Stop it, stop worrying about him! He has a girlfriend for God's sake. " Dhivya shouted in anger.

"Huuh, What are you blabbering, Dhivya?"

"I'm not. come out of your illusion!"

Riya is rooted in her place and tears started to well up in her black orbs. Dhivya is fisted her hands to control her anger and pain.

"Who is she?" Riya asked her in a calm tone.

"Roshini, it seems they are in a relationship from the past one year and She got transferred to this college 1 week back. Before that, she was studying in Pune university." Dhivya replied monotonously.

"Is she beautiful?" Riya questioned her in a clouded voice.

Dhivya looked at her murderously, "I didn't know that and all. Let's go to class."

Dhivya tried to drag her after seeing Arjun along with Roshini. But it's too late Riya already noticed her eyes movements and spotted Arjun and Roshini together. Arjun is smiling, truly and his happiness reflected in his face and Roshini is looking beautiful, Lean body, curled hair, and dark brown eyes. Riya feels compared to Roshini she is nothing in front of her. The most important thing is Arjun is smiling not the usual trademark smirks the true smile and his brown eyes reflecting it. She never saw him smiling like a normal human in these three years something she never could do, but Roshini did it in 1 year.

"He looks so happy!" Riya murmured looking at his smiling face.

"Then what about you, Riya?" Dhivya shouted in anger.

"I never existed in his life, can't you see how happy he is! Let him be with her. I don't have any problems. All I need is his happiness."Riya bites her lower lip to control sob escaping from her.

"At least you should tell him that it was you, who had saved him that night!" Dhivya suggested.

"He doesn't need to know anything and you aren't going to open your mouth to anyone and its final" Riya stormed out of the canteen in anger. Because her mouth can lie, but her heart can't. She told them that she is happy for him, of course, she is happy for him, but looking him with another girl other than her makes her heart tremble. Dhivya followed her to the class and during the entire day she didn't talk to her about him and the most irritating thing she acted like it doesn't affect her not even a bit and making Dhivya go in mad.

After two days

~Football court~

Riya is trying to keep a brave face in front of her best friend, but the strings of her control are breaking slowly on a daily basis looking for them everywhere in college and the whole college is talking about the new couple in town. The last straw to Riya's control was witnessing Arjun kissing Roshini in the football court with all the love. She didn't mean to see them or interrupt their private moments. Actually, she wants to stay alone after fighting with Dhivya because she is nagging her to tell everything to Arjun that made the situation out of control, so she shouted at her and left the place in anger. The football court her personal favorite place, because this empty ground knows her love, her pain, her happiness, and her fear. Whenever she wants to have a peaceful mind during college, she would come here most of the time with Dhivya, and rarely she would come alone just like today. She thought to come here since it's class hours so students won't there, but the luck is not with her today and she ended up seeing Arjun and Roshini and their kiss.

On the other hand, Dhivya is following her all the way from the classroom to the football court. Looking at the scene Riya rooted in the place, she wants to cry, but she didn't disturb the love birds and certainly, she doesn't want to embarrass in the public in front of Arjun and Roshini. Riya started to run away from the place and once they are out of her sight tears streamed down on her face without control.

"No, I shouldn't cry. Arjun didn't cheat or love me then why do I feel like he did something to me. I should be happy for him" Like a mantra, she keeps on telling herself and trying to wipe away the tears in the back of the hand. By then she has reached the college gates and boarded the cab to her home. In her trance, she didn't realize Dhivya is calling out her name in panic. The staff and some students looked at them weirdly. Dhivya as well boarded the cab to follow Riya, because she didn't know what she will do now and the fear engulfed her.

~At Riya's home~

Pallavi and Riya's father is sitting in the hall. Pallavi has returned from the hospital earlier today since she has a slight fever and cold and Riya's father came home early after getting a call from the hospital about Pallavi's fever.

"It's nothing Dad, just slight fever, for this you came from office early" Pallavi pouted.

"It's okay dear, Everything should be treated at the earliest stage, and After knowing you're having fever I couldn't stop myself so I came here," Pallavi's dad said in concern

Their talk was interrupted by Riya who is running towards her room without noticing two people in the hall. Looking at Riya's crying face they got up from the place.

"Riya" Pallavi shouted

"Pari" Her father called out her pet name.

~Riya's Room~

But Riya is deaf to hear anything and strode towards her room. Once she reached her room, she slumped on her bed started to cry loudly thinking nobody is here in the room. She let the pain go away from her by crying her hearts out. Both father and sister had followed her, but looking at her crying face all sorts of negative thoughts engulfed their mind

"Pari" Riya's father shouted to bring her out of the trance.

Hearing his father's voice Riya looked up from the bed with tears in her eyes, she called out him, "Dad".

He started to walk towards her slowly and Riya gets up from the bed and hugged her father tightly and started to sob heavily his arms, whereas Pallavi is rooted in her place and she doesn't have any idea why her sister is crying. Riya is happy after she joined the college and this made the duo happy for her, but what happened all of sudden.

"Take me away from here, Dad. I won't want to be here anymore. I don't like this place" Riya cried in his arms.

"What happened Pari? Does Anyone...?" Her father is afraid to ask her questions because his daughter is already gone through the phase.

"No..No" Riya denied his unasked questions. Both Pallavi and her father left out the held breath.

"Then why do you want to go from here?" He carefully asked.

"Please take me away from here and Don't ask me anything! Please" Riya pleaded him.

By then Dhivya also there and standing next to Pallavi and watching everything silently. Both the girls are crying looking at her. Pallavi didn't know the reason for her decision and Dhivya knew everything but couldn't voice out.

"Yes, Pari.We will go to your Mother's favorite place" Her father informed her.

"Promise?" Riya forwarded her hand to ask his promise.

"I Promise, we are leaving tomorrow and I will get the college DC today itself, and please don't cry, Please baby" He promised her and wiped off her tears.

Riya nodded her head like an obedient child and looked at Dhivya guiltily and the other two people looked at them suspiciously and looking at their face they left them alone.

"Why are you doing this?" Dhivya asked her in a breathless tone.

"Because I couldn't see him with another woman, It's killing me. I thought If I act oblivious of my surroundings this feeling will fade away, but now I feel it's impossible and I don't have any strength to watch them together. I feel in my madness I would hurt myself or others. So I decided to leave him forever" Riya justified her actions.

"You have planned to leave Delhi but without me?" Dhivya accused her.

"You cannot come with me leaving your family, right?" Riya exclaimed.

"I will come with you, Please. And I will talk to my dad. Always Dad and Mom are busy in their jobs So I will come and I know how to convince my daddy.!" Dhivya said with determination.

"Are you insane? Then what about your family?" Riya shouted.

"I will come with you," Dhivya whispered.

"No, you are not coming with me, its final, Dhivya," Riya warned her.

" I hate you so much Ms.Riya Mukherjee" Dhivya shouted in pain and left the place.

Riya slumped down on the ground with pain. Today she lost two important people in her life. The one person she had pushed and the other person oblivious of her presence in his life.

As the way, Riya's father promised her they had left the city on the very next day itself while leaving Delhi they met Singhania's family, but Dhivya hasn't come out from her room until Riya left the place.

A painful silence prevailed in the room Dhivya is crying and Arjun's face is barren of emotions. It wasn't intentional to hurt her, but he did hurt her.

"When did you meet her again?" Arjun asked her in a broken voice.

"On the next week itself!" Dhivya said smilingly.

"But she warned you not to come with her!" Arjun confusingly asked her.

"Because I made my living corpse without that idiot and my parents didn't have any option but to send me to Riya's home and I did college with her in her mother's native place "Dhivya smiled shyly.

Arjun is amazed to see the girl in front of him.

"That was the last day she had seen you, and after that, she met you in ETF after 8 years." Dhivya murmured.

"Why she didn't tell me about her true identity not even once? At least she could have told me everything when we met in the ETF right?" Arjun questioned her.

"She thought you were happy with Roshini and she doesn't want to disturb you unnecessarily. But destiny played a different game." Dhivya justified Riya's actions.

"Just tell me one thing if Riya had confessed her love to you in college, would have been accepted her love leaving Roshini? No right because that time Roshini was your world. She felt that was the right thing to leave you at that time. She closed all the doors that make her remind you, but forget to close the doors of the heart and forgets to forget you" Dhivya whispered.

"Why she loves me this much? What I did to her?" Arjun questioned himself.

"It is your job to find the answers. You both are very fortune so you are getting a second chance in life, not everyone is so lucky as you guys. So hold it and don't slip the chance away from you this time. I used to tell her you guys are meant to be together, that's why life is making you guys connected always. Don't be oblivious of your feelings."Dhivya tried to knock some sense into his head.

"What if I can't make her happy?" Arjun doubted.

"Her happiness lies with you, just be with her she doesn't need anything in the world. Just answer one question of mine!" Dhivya asked his permission.

Arjun nodded his head to proceed.

"The girl whom you had saved that night in the club always lingers in your mind somewhere, right?"Dhivya raised her eyebrows at him waiting for answers.

Arjun is looked down not showing his true emotions. Because this is the truth he didn't know why he still regrets that he couldn't see her face and couldn't console her. Something beyond his imaginations that feelings are.

"Yes, right. She always lingers in your mind without a face but now you know the person so treasure it. Even now if you stay away from her no one can save you both. Why did you leave her in the hospital and why you didn't come to meet her?" Dhivya shouted at him.

"Because she asked me to do that and I thought it would make her happy. I can't see her in pain it hurts me!" Arjun exclaimed in anger.

"Huh, what? Are you freaking insane or are you too blind that you can't see her love? How could you conclude that would make her happy? She is a dying man because of this distance you are putting now. I knew you love her and I can see in your eyes don't dare to lie. Go and tell her before she goes half-mad at this." Dhivya shouted in anger.

Looking at his silent face, she whispered," You can maintain silence to me but not to her. This is the moment for you guys. It's up to you to hold it or throw it away."

"Only one request, don't tell Riya that I told you everything and she may think that you came since I had told you the truth. Don't steal the little happiness she would get after seeing you.!" Dhivya requested him.

"Why do you that for her? This much effort for your friend?" Arjun asked her in an amazed tone.

Because she is my best friend. You know her family used to say because of me she started living her life again after her mother's death but that's not true. It was Riya who had changed my life in every possible way. She is good at heart and innocent, that's why she is going through this pain till now. If I were in her place I would have forgotten you long back and moved on in my life but her love for you is so pure without an expectation that's why she is suffering. She had forced you to marry her when she felt her love is going to be unrequited forever, so don't push her away for this reason" Dhivya whispered but her eyes filled with tears.

"I would never do that!" Arjun whispered and trying hard to blink away the tears.

"This diary and letters belong to you so keep it with you. If possible, try to love her half the way she loves you. She had told you to stay away from her, but looking at the hospital door with cravings for your arrival. Her mouth told something, but her heart couldn't follow that. She is waiting for you." Dhivya softly said

"I will come"

"I will be waiting for your arrival and I knew you would make her understand."

"Sure, She has to listen to me at any cost".

"Thanks for listening to me and I'm sorry if I were harsh on you. When I see her like that I couldn't stop myself, but reveal everything to you." Dhivya apologized for her rude behavior

"No..no I should thank you for everything and whatever you did to her. Riya is very lucky to have you in her life" Arjun sincerely said.

She softly smiled, "Nope, I'm lucky to have her in my life, She is worth to keep in life".

"Bye, Mr.Arjun Suryakant Rawte Your wife Mrs. Riya Arjun Suryakant Rawte is waiting for you eagerly so please do pay a visit to her so that the poor soul can rest for some time". Dhivya teased him like Riya.

He started to look there and here to hide the embarrassment.

Arjun gave her a small smile. With that Dhivya leaves the place with happiness and she finally knows Riya is going to get much deserving happiness in life. Once she was out of the room Arjun is clutching the diary and letters close to him and stared for a few mins before opening them.

He opened the first page of the diary, cute Riya's picture is smiling at him with twinkling eyes, and looking at the picture he can guess the picture was taken when Riya was in teenage. He started to swipe the next pages with anticipation, he wants to know what she was written about him. He carefully read each letter, each word, it seems she written everything with the utmost care and love. He never knew someone could express love with words and letters. Everything in the diary has been about him, just him. As her existence is to love him unconditionally and without him she is nothing.

She has written from the day she met him in the school, Dhivya 's teasing when she first time mesmerized looking at his picture on the notice-board, first time meeting him in the canteen, football match, and her admiration for him being a good student at school, their meeting at the night club and her missing him when he graduated from school. From Arjun's accident and their meet at college till the last time she met him at the football court when he had kissed Roshini. The last page of the diary is empty for a few days until she had closed the diary stating that she is never gonna write about him since he belongs to Roshini.

"I didn't know that I had hurt you unintentionally. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. If possible forgive me for the pain I had given you in my obliviousness." Arjun murmured in pain and the tears trickled down until his eyes caught some photographs that were scattered on the floor from the diary, Since those pictures were loosely placed in the diary along with the letters.

Arjun carefully picked the photos from the ground, first one is his smiling picture when he had graduated from school and the other one his latest picture after he had joined the ETF in this picture he is wearing black shirts and smiling slightly unlike his usual grumpy look. He took the last pic with the same expectation and thought this is gonna be another one of his pic or her pic, but looking at the pic, his breath came to stop for a few secs. It was Veer sir hugging Riya and Pallavi both of his sides and both the girls looking so happy and Veer sir face is beaming with joy.

"Riya with Veer Sir, then she is the daughter of Veer Sir?" Arjun asked himself in a breathless tone.

Arjun tried to swipe a few pages in the diary to find any clue about her father, but nothing is written on it except the picture.

He is trying to connect the dots carefully because even Dhivya while talking about Riya's father, didn't take his name and never mentioned his job except he is working in some income tax department. At the same time, Veer sir was known as an income tax officer in the outside world except for his close ones because of his undercover mission and the threats to his daughter's lives. Arjun runs his hands through his hair to ease the tension and confusion. All of a sudden Arjun's phone started to ring making him come out of his surroundings.

"Hello"

"Hey Arjun, Guess where I'm right now?" Raj asked him cheerfully.

"I didn't know, Raj" Arjun rubbed his forehead to reduce the head pain.

"What happened? Any Problem?" Raj asked him in a panic tone because never in history Arjun forgets the duty and replying monotonous is something new.

"No, no. I'm alright. Tell me!" Arjun questioned him and come out of the thoughts.

"Are you sure?" Raj asked him in a doubtful tone.

"Yeah...Yeah!" Arjun assured him.

"If you say so okay, I'm in Australia now. Guess what I find here?" Raj is back in a cheerful mood.

"Australia, Don't tell me you found Veer's sir daughters?" Arjun whispered in breathless tone and the confusion in office he almost forgets that Raj went to Australia. He has a mild idea about them, but once he wants to confirm before jumping into the conclusion.

"Yes, I found them, finally!" Raj gleamed with happiness.

He paused for a moment and continued," The irony is they are very close to you and you are searching them in every corner of this world!".

"Close to me?" Arjun got up from the place in shock. He has now confirmed Riya is Veer's daughter hearing his coded answers.

"I have sent some pics to your personal number, see that !" Raj advised him.

Arjun frantically searches for his mobile phone in the room and finally, he found it. With bated breath, he opened the WhatsApp and looked at the picture. He feels his knees give up looking at Riya and Dhivya's picture and the other one is Riya with her Sister Pallavi and Brother-in-law Aditya. On the other side, Raj is shouting for Arjun's name because he heard some noise in the background.

"AR, Are you okay? What is that noise?" Raj in panic.

"Nothing.. nothing. It's Riya Mukherjee and Pallavi Mukherjee Right?" Arjun whispered and the emotions are at the peak that he couldn't speak.

"Yes, Riya and Pallavi are Veer's sir Daughter and Pallavi married Aditya Chintakayala 5 years back and settled down in London" Raj confirmed about Mukherjee's sister.

Arjun is silent and trying to sink the words of Raj.

"How ironic is that? She has been with you for more than 6 months, but you couldn't see that.!" Raj felt bad for Arjun.

"Yeah...Yeah," Arjun tried to reply but failing miserably.

"It was Mr.Shivnath Singhania general in the Army, her best friend Dhivya's father who had safeguarded them when sir has died in the mission and he is still in contact with Riya and Pallavi. One more thing Mr.Singhania and Veer Sir were best friends because of their daughters and both Riya and Dhivya studied in the same college in Chennai and From there both the families became so close to each other" Raj revealed everything about Riya and her sister past.

"Thank you so much, Raj. I appreciate your work. I don't have words what you did to me both personally as well in professional life" Arjun whispered under his breath the last part.

"Do they know about you?" Raj asked.

"I guess No If they knew about me. I guess the reaction be won't good. They would think because it's been 3 years I never met them after that accident and by now they would have thought of me as a culprit who vanished from the world after being saved by his father. I'm damn sure they are oblivious of true identity." Arjun said confidently.

"When are you planning to tell them?" Raj queried him.

"This is not the right time, but I will tell them soon before that I have to safeguard them." Arjun determinedly said his decision.

"But don't take much time. They deserve to know about officer AR and their relationship with their Father. And just now I saw the news what happened to Ms.Riya?" Raj concernedly asked about her.

"She is alright now" Arjun mouthed.

"Thank God. She is a brave lady like her father. Okay, see you soon. I can't stay here anymore, so I will make a move. We will meet soon." Raj replied.

Arjun and Raj winded off the call. That's it, all the control Arjun is holding broken. He started to throw everything in anger and pain. The revelations and truth about Riya are too much to handle for one day. It's rushing up like floods of emotions and making him breathless.

"Why it's me? Everything is in front of me but I failed to see. I'm sorry for everything Riya" Arjun curled like a ball on the floor and cried.

Outside Mansion

Mr& Mrs.Rawte looking at Dhivya's retreating figure in confusion and he had seen this girl with Riya's family and he had recognized that girl to be Riya's best friend.

"Ms.Singhania here, But Why?" Mrs.Rawte questioned in confusion.

"We will go and check with Arjun, "Mr.Rawte said.

~Back to Arjun's room~

Arjun has changed himself in a maroon button-down cotton shirt with white pants to meet Riya, but he didn't know how to face her thus making him holding his head in pain at the same time Arjun's parents made entry to his room in confusion. Mr. Rawte looked at Arjun's bloodshot red eyes suspiciously, but Arjun averted his gaze.

"What happened?"

"Nothing!"

"I asked you what happened here? And Why Riya's friend came here?".

"I said, nothing, Dad. Please leave me alone for some time" Arjun shouted, but the voice will be laced with pain.

"What the hell has gotten into you, Arjun. Just out with the truth. Why is your face looking dull?"Mr.Rawte interrogated him.

"Everything is in front of me, but I fail to see the truth, Dad" Arjun murmured in clouded voice.

"What is in front of you? And What you didn't see? Stop talking in riddles, Arjun" Mr.Rawte said with irritation.

"I found Veer Sir's daughters, Dad" Arjun whispered.

His parents and Roshni in the family who knew about his true job in RAW no one else. So he can tell them everything about his job without hiding it.

"What, OMG. That's such good news. Who are they?" Mr.Rawte questioned him with excitement.

"Riya Mukherjee and Pallavi Mukherjee" Arjun carefully said to read his father's reaction.

"What?"

"Yes, this is the truth. Riya and Pallavi are Veer Sir's daughters." Arjun confirmed his father.

"You must tell them about your identity, Arjun," Mr.Rawte suggested.

"How? What will I tell them, Dad? That because of me their beloved father had to die and to save me, he pushed me out of the car losing his life in the mission. What I should tell them? I'm afraid of their reactions now, Dad. Three years god damn three years I'm searching them but I couldn't get a clue. When I have them in front of me, I didn't know how to introduce myself to them?" Arjun shouted in pain and anger. The way life made him stand on the crossroads again and again.

"Because of this reason, you can't hide this from them forever, right? If not today, but one day the truth has to be revealed and you have to tell them everything, Arjun. You can't keep them in dark alleyways."Mr.Rawte tried to make his stubborn son understand the situation.

"I didn't know how to save them, especially, Riya!" Arjun murmured.

"First, tell them the truth and we will decide other things later!" Mr.Rawte advised him.

"I want to marry Riya!" Arjun confidently said.

Mrs.Rawte gleamed in happy listening to her but Mr.Rawte couldn't do that.

"Are you mad? Or you are acting like one!" Mr.Rawte shouted in anger.

"If I marry her I can keep her with me always and No one can hurt her when she is with me in this house!" Arjun blabbered though his reason for marrying her is love, right now saving her is clouding his rational mind.

"Without love you aren't marrying Riya. What you think of yourself that you're a savior and If you marry her just because her Father had saved your life, Riya will be happy in this marriage. God damn it. She will die in pain, you idiot." Mr.Rawte shouted in fury.

Aadhirai who is watching everything in silence brokes the silence looking at his son's painful face.

"Whatever your Dad saying is the truth, Arjju, Riya won't be happy if she comes to know that you have married out of force, not love!. Do you know how much this hurts a woman?. Please don't make that mistake. If you love her 'Marry her' otherwise don't marry in the pretext of saving her."Mrs.Rawte Supported her husband.

Arjun is silent and he couldn't meet his father's eyes, which are accusing him and his mother's who is pleading him to accept the truth. He loves her and why he can't accept the fact to his parents. Yes, indeed he has the biggest responsibility of saving her family at the same time he loves her too. Why he can't solve the matter easily instead of confusing himself and the people around him as well.

" And From when Sir has started to love Riya that you want to seal the relationship with Marriage" Mr.Rawte challenged him and stone like a rock in front of his son.

"She is Veer's sir daughter and I want to protect her." Arjun gave him lame excuses.

"So let her be and you can protect her without marrying her also" Mr.Rawte added more to anger him.

"No, Sikander will kill them if he gets to know about Riya and Pallavi And I cannot let anything happened to her and her sister" Arjun screamed back in anger.

"You don't love her right, so let her die who cares? And Veer's family doesn't know your existence, so you continue your acting." Mr.Rawte provoked his son's anger.

"God damn it. I can't let anything happen to her. I will protect her till my last breath" Arjun broke the mobile which he is holding.

"Why don't you accept that you love her.!" Mr.Rawte smirked at him.

" I.." Arjun looks at his father with tears filled eyes, and his voice is choking at the end.

"Are you afraid someone going to judge because who you're marrying Riya? Or you feel like you're betraying Roshini?" Mr.Rawte carefully asked.

"I didn't know anything. I feel everything is right to some extent at the same time I'm doing everything wrong!" Arjun voiced out his inner feelings.

"Just like You want Riya in your life and you love her, but afraid of hurting her unintentionally, Right?" Mrs.Rawte looked at her son expectantly for his answers.

"Yeah, Maybe, Mom" Arjun whispered in pain.

"Where is your chain, Arjun?. Which you used to wear it around your neck and that was gifted by your Godfather Beer, Right?" Mr.Rawte acted carefully.

He knew that the chain is with Riya now, when they had visited Riya at the hospital his darling wife noticed their son's chain in Riya neck, and that time they thought to leave the matter as such. He feels this is the right time to get the truth out of the lion's mouth.

Arjun is silent and started to fist and unfist his knuckles in nervousness. Nothing amiss from his parent's eyes precisely his father.

"Stop running away from your true feelings. You can keep silent to everyone, but not yourself. Stop this nonsense, drama, and accept her from the heart without any second thoughts and feelings. If you really need her and If you feel without her you can't live then go and 'Marry her' not just because she is Veer's daughter. She is also a human being with feelings just like you, not a toy that you can play with her feelings."Mr.Rawte looked up to see his son's brown eyes, which are filled with love for Riya, but the fear of protecting her overpowering the love now.

"If you still afraid that something will happen to her!"Mr.Rawte read his son's mind.

"I'm afraid of losing her Dad. What if she goes away from me or someone snatches her away from me just like Roshini?" Arjun whispered under his breath and he knew to his father, he could open up his vulnerable side and let the insecurities out of his mind without fear of being judged or questioned.

His parents know who is that someone he has mentioned is Sikander a devil who is ready to ruin their son's life yet again.

"Do you know what? Love gives all the strength to humans that makes the pain turn into a cure, like magic, and Just believe in you and your love, nothing else matters and you can face all the demons of you without fear" Mr.Rawte comforted him just like the way he did that day to Riya at the hospital.

It's like his father's words did magic for him and the clouds of doubts cleared from his mind and he certainly knows what he has to do now.

"I need to check Riya. I'm going to meet her," Arjun whispered while taking the car keys to run out of the room.

"But still you didn't accept that you love her, Man" Mr.Rawte teased his son.

Arjun made a face for his teasing and averted his gaze, and murmured " I will go and see her." Saying this he and dashed out of the room.

"Arjun stop" Mr.Rawte shouted but he is already out of the room.

"God, this boy!" Mr.Rawte gritted teeth in anger.

"Don't worry. We will go to Riya's home now, anyways we have to ask Riya's hand for Arjun to her sister and brother-in-law. So it is a good chance, let's go Surya!" Aadhirai suggested to him positively.
