One question here: watching the childhood of the 2 at Gokul, why was Rohini depicted as addressing Balarama as 'Dau'? Wouldn't that be for just Krishna and the Pandavas? Shouldn't she address him as 'putra' or 'lal' or one of those?

I think here they have given Balram a nickname as Dau. Everyone calls him so not just his siblings
How exactly did Balarama get the nickname 'Dau'? I've only ever heard it in Hindi shows/movies. In the South of India, he's always addressed as Balarama or Balabhadra, or even 'Rama' by Krishna. I remember watching a telugu movie where Krishna always called his elder brother 'Rama', and I thought that was super cute considering he was Rama himself in the previous avatar. 😆
Dau sounds cute too, but I never understood what it meant or how Balarama got that name, and which source it's from.

Vijay Kavish played King Ugrasena and also Lord Shiva in both RSR and SK.
Also, did anyone else notice that Shah Nawaz, who played our Nand Baba, also played Shurasena (Vasudev's father) and of course the infamous Chanoor? Shurasena was rather insignificant, but it's amazing how he played both Nand Baba and Chanoor so effortlessly without us realizing they were the same person! 😲👏
There were tons of other RSR actors in SK while the show was being filmed in Umargaon up until the transfer of Balram track. Those early episodes from the dashavatar up to Kirtimaan's death were actually done pretty close Uttar Ramayan's filming so a lot of those actors were still there. Hence Shyamsundar Kalaani--RSR's Sugreev--played Narasimh avataar and the original Chanoor, and Bashir Khan--who played Angad--played Bhaumasur. Rajshekhar Upadhyay, who had been Jambavant in RSR, had a few roles in SK even after they moved to Baroda. Pramod Kapoor--Akrur--had some minor roles in Uttar Ramayan. Oh and Vilas Raj and Kshama Raj of course--Lavanasur and Mrs. Lavansur--returned as Kans and Asti in SK. There are others I'm forgetting but this is already quite a list 😆
I just saw in Swapnil Joshi channel that the kid who played Sudama was the one who played Prahlad too.
The Dashavatar was originally planned to be another show, but RS didn't get permission for it(uh uh Congress government, uh uh National Channel), so instead he used those in SK (twice)
By the time SK started airing and Sudama track happened the kid had grown into a teenager

Did either party have negative views towards Ramanand Sagar? Arun Govil and Dara Singh were campaigners for Sunil Shastri in 1987, iirc, while Deepika and Arvind Trivedi were BJP candidates in Gujarat in 1989. So RSR gave both parties support, assuming that such support mattered at all.
BRC, otoh, seemed to turn out people who exclusively supported the BJP - be it Nitish, Roopa, Mukesh, et al
