Okay, so having watched the episodes involved in quelling Kalyavan, I decided to check what SB says about it. In Chapter 50, here is what I found

Text 44:Arriving at Mathurā, this Yavana laid siege to the city with thirty million barbarian soldiers. He had never found a human rival worth fighting, but he had heard that the Vṛṣṇis were his equals.
So SB has nothing about Kalyavan being the son of a rajarshi who wanted a boon from Shiva b'cos he was suspected as being a eunuch as the show suggested 😆 Nor is there anything there about him being born to Rambha and then adopted by the Yavana ruler. So where did Ramanand Sagar get this particular account of Kalyavan?
Another thing - where were his origins from? I've seen here both Greece and Mongolia suggested, but could it more likely be the area of Scythia? To cross the Thar desert - assuming that it existed then - it would have to be more likely that his tribe was familiar w/ desert conditions, which would be more likely if he was from Central Asia, rather than Greece.
Another thing - I found it weird that he and his people were speaking in Urdu, of all languages, since that language didn't exist until the 14th century 😆
