I don't understand the economics of movies, jawaani jaaneman was shot in London, so probably cost some money, love aaj kal was shot in shoddy sets, it looked like cardboard walls, Delhi streets and made more money than jawaani jaaneman and is a flop? so the what was the cost of love aaj kal, imtiaz Ali charges a lot of money?

outsiders are not given the kind of platform nepo kids are...... people already knew Jhanvi would debut in a few years, which movie was the only suspense, this small small steps of her career, of Sridevi being worried and KJO assuring her would also come in the articles to tell audience that Jhanvi is gearing up for bollywood.....as opposed to that how many outsiders strugglers names do we know currently who are everyday visiting all this production houses and casting agent to get a call for some project ??.....the kinda exposure and promotion that nepo kids get even before entering bollywood......outsiders dont get despite proving their talent.......

in fact your topic re-affirms what we have been saying all along......that outsiders are not even considered for those top projects even after they have proven their talent...........that the big ph's only want nepo kids to star in their movies.........there is not audition..............if the nepo kids dont suit the role, then adjust the role as per what suits the nepo kids...... if there are people who wants outsiders then force them to take nepo kids by investing money (Arjun Kapoor for Panipat) or just giving a phone call (DZ)

@bold : just to further this point, please go and watch that interview that mintyblue shared about bulbul actress tripti dimri....... i think her first movie released around 1.5 years back, but today first time i saw her in an interview......i think last week i read her name on the forum......she is very good looking, from reviews it seems her acting was quite good in her debut movie or second movie i am not sure.........but she had to wait for 1.5 years for her next project........ as opposed to her, Jhanvi, ananya got their first few movies even before their debut movies were out.......... so if this is the scenario..........then how can you blame the outsiders for mediocre projects..........poor guys when they dont get any offers despite showing their talent......then have to take whatever comes their way, akhir pet toh unko bhi bharna hai naa.........ghar kharcha toh unko bhi chalana hai.......baap-dada ki kamayee jyada logon ki nahi hoti jo right project milne ka wait karte phire, jab ki pata bhi nahi ki right project kabhi milega bhi ya nahi

Lol !

Why do people care as if they are investing their money in movies? I mean when arjun/boney invest their money in some particular movie isn’t it their problem when the movie tanks at box office? If audience reject them ultimately they stop investing money on movies and take back step....as simple ! At the end of the day paisa mei parmatma hai bhai...and this industry runs on business.why not outsiders invest money in the movies? If they have talent insiders have money....and let audience choose who they want to see on big screen...all this blaming kjo/PH and Alia/Nepo kids is kiddish..

‘if I want to make a movie I def consider industry kids for the role...why would I go for xyz whose parents are not public figures and are not known to general public?

I can only speak for myself...Education kinda adds a certain charm to the actor...There is a reason why Kareena’s 1 month stint in Oxford/Harvard was promoted so much and I don’t think I have to even mention how Sara’s education got hyped up...On the other hand, Sushant neither promoted himself as this fundoo guy nor anybody else was interested to hype him up...In fact he was put down as this weird guy who tweets mindless quotes and star and moon gibberish!

And seriously? Now we are going to completely deny the existence of the problem only? Money is theirs but the platforms are not which they are occupying with their power and systematically alienating those without any power....How many of these movies got a theater release in the first place?

There are 32 DISASTER given by OUTSIDER, if we calculate the amount of money wasted by these outsiders, we could even build a small town out of it,

and what reply we get "SUSHANT is AIEE 7th Rank Holder"??

Sushant Singh Rajput who has AIEE 7th Rank delivered 2 BIG DISASTER film -

1. Raabta = 47 Cr Budget film which got only 10 Cr Distributor Share, a huge 37 Cr Loss.

2. Sonchiriya = 28 Cr Budget film getting 2 Cr in return for Distributors.

What kind of education is this where you are delivering this much loss? You get away with it just coz you are an OUTSIDER?

Ahh yes marketing ke liye zaroor use karte hai. People do care a lot about formal education in this country and the marketing guys definitely can use that to promote. Sushant never had a good PR. I mean look at the way people are so interested in his education and intelligence now, could have hyped him to the sky with everything he has done. Even with YRF I don't think he got any. But then YRF doesn't do for any of their talents. All they know is to take from them. Ranveer is lucky he knew how to market himself or else even he would have suffered. Even Pari's triple honours degree was never hyped the way they should have. I think Sara benefitted the most with her education.

How many theaters? What kind of theaters? How many days they were allowed to run despite seats not getting filled up like they do for certain movie? Who am I asking these questions to anyway...Being a BO expert, I know you know about these things better than anybody else...Its just that now you have to prove your point and so trying to ignore all these other factors that very much make or break an actor!
