Costs and budgets have nothing to do with it. Verdicts depend on how much the movies were sold to distributors for. Those movies were probably sold for a lot because a lot was expected from them.

Nothing much was expected from movies like Chhapak, Jazba, Sarbjit, Sky is Pink, etc. Sold cheaply and still badly flopped.

You can cry all you want but the audience likes Alia. KJo may have pushed her onto the audience but they are pretty happy with her. Fans of other actresses can't handle it but that's the way it is. Once she starts losing audience interest, KJo will drop her too.

Those two can’t be compared. At all. I also have friends and cousins in residency who have collectively built relationships to get the residency they wanted. That’s what you are supposed to do. It’s expected.

for kjo alia, they pressured people. Her getting into films due to connection isn’t a problem, it’s the tactic after that which is a problem.
Atleast your friend showed the skills necessary before using that connection. In alias case someone made a phone call let’s say for Highway without any definite proof that she could do the job
When the director has doubts like in dear zindagi, you respect and move on. Don’t try to pressure just because you are co producing. Point is they push the limit of what healthy networking is. They go beyond it and it is not right.

I mean.. yeah.. she is a queen compared to the other female leads right now. You can complain she is handed those movies but you can't complain that she doesn't do anything with them. Karan keeps giving her more because she has proven that the audience likes her.

good for her her films made money. But she’s generic as a performer.
you put her next to Priyanka, vidya, in glamorous roles that deepika does, rani and she doesn’t match up.
you can praise her as a bo queen all you want, but as a performer, as a looker, she is underwhelming to other talents out there in the past but because her films have done “well” I mean dear zindagi did have srk in it too let’s not forget that. She is praised to the sky’s. she’s mediocre and tbh I think bw will struggle if we have more artists like alia one after another being repeatedly touted as stars.
