your right. But I think his issue was not the audience liking or not liking him, he was just not getting work that he liked, didn’t get hype from media and didn’t get applaud. I can only compare it to interview, imagine being on interviews for years because that’s exactly what was happening to him, he kept calling people for work and as soon as he got a huge hit, rumor said they dropped him from 7 movies. He should’ve developed thick skin and continue his work. He said he was not getting offers he liked. I remember I had a job that was a negative environment because coworkers would report me, talk behind my work but they were jealous I was getting awards for being best employee of the quarter, perfect attendance and other awards. I quit the job because negativity messes up with my mind even though I considered myself as a strong person. Sushant probably had people who were jealous of him ruining his image. He has to work with the same people

I don't know what his issues were but what I do know that if he was suffering from depression than a lot has to with the disease that affected him than the actual problems. Like u said he should have developed a thick skin maybe he could have without depression but with it I know it gets extremely difficult no matter how hard u try. Which is why treating the disease is so important cause it plays with ur mind. You know how anxiety makes a problem looks much bigger than what it truly is, so i can't even imagine what depression might do to someone.

Few days ago I was thinking about him and Ayushmann. How both are outsiders started with the same PH and how things turned differently for both. I m sure if Sushant wasn't treated well Ayushmann wasn't doing any better. But Sushant left while Ayushmann stayed with YRF. Sushant and Ayushmann both achieved success but if its true that Sushant was cornered by the industry cause of his success then I do feel staying with Ayushmann benefitted him to have their backing. He didn't get cornered or boycotted. Ayushmann took extremely calculative steps in this regard and had immense patience which Sushant didn''t have. He didn't have the ability to ignore the wrong that was done to him but Ayushmann ignored it completely. In industries like this you have to be very smart about your moves, talent alone can't make u survive this shit. I have seen this in my personal life, its always the smart ones who benefit more than the talented ones.

Its good u quit , sometimes u really can't take so much of negativity on a daily basis eventually it starts hampering ur work. It take a lot to figure out how to handle this. I still haven't been able to figure it out myself but then I do have good people around too so they help me cope with the bad ones. Touchwood.

I didn't read it that way. I only saw how me as an audience is to be blamed for the things that happened to Sushant which I don't agree with. Nothing to do with his colleagues or the industry.

Audience is not and industry isnt either. Especially considering all these conflicting details coming out

I agree 100 percent with everything you said. Ayshuman said an a interview work is not like a priority and his family is, I don't remember the exact words but he said cinema is not like his world. He has a good support from his family, has wife, kids and other family members.

Sushant surrounded himself with industry gfs and industry friends. It would've been nice if he stayed in touch with his family or probably even married someone outside from industry like shahid got married with kids. Ayshuman forgives and forgets that's the way to be. I can understand sushant's personality of being sensitive and how certain things effect your mind.

Yeah, it has a lot to do with personalities too. They have a very different approach to their work and life. I m just glad Ayushmann made it. I wish Sushant could too.

Very well said! 👏

Any actor in BW needs mental fortitude and strong emotional support at home.. in order to survive in this cut throat, bullying and highly nepotistic industry!

I blame you (and me ).

ps: I'm just having fun here no hard feelings.

You’re right but you have to acknowledge the narrative of the industry. Most of our opinions are formed because of the way things are communicated to us. They make us think certain things. Sushant image has been tarnished over the years. Yet we’re made to believe that Alia, Varun, Arjun, Sonam, Janhvi , Sara and Ananya are “talented”..... Suhana hasn’t even debuted yet and people are bigging her up. Meanwhile Taapsee is losing movies and Tara is barely signing movies.

When Karan forces people like Madhuri to praise Alia on KWK, that indirectly sends a message to the public. When awards are bought for her and paraded online and thru the tv - that also sends a message.

Messaging plays a big part in this. All these stars don’t have PR for no reason. There is a reason why they exist, and it’s mainly to change and manufacture a particular narrative for the audience

Here's the thing, I didn't feel like he was the butt of every joke. People constantly rate Salman and Katrina last on Koffee with Karan for best actor - yes you can argue that it might be true (I don't think so) but it's their opinion and they're entitled to it. Yes he was made fun of on award shows but that happens even more so in Hollywood. Every late show host or SNL are taking constant jibes at celebrities. It doesn't lead to suicide. Relentless bullying is different and I don't equate these things to that.

As for work being snatched away or not getting the appreciation he deserved, that happens to the rest of us all the time. How many of us have been passed up for a promotion only for it to go to someone less deserving? How many times has someone else received the credit for our work? The whole black lives matter movement is based on systemic racism and it goes beyond being targeted by cops. It also means that we live in a system in North America that doesn't allow black people to have the same opportunities as white people. This is not leading to suicide. How many people live on the streets with barely any food or money. They don't commit suicide.

To say this is why Sushant committed suicide, makes him sound petty. That he didn't value his family as much as his work or projects. He needed to be a part of the Bollywood in circle so much that he killed himself without thinking about the family that loved him? Like who cares if Alia knew who he was? It's a mental health issue. He felt he had no choice at that time. It doesn't mean he was weak, it's an illness.

I do agree that blinds and rumours suck and they can become so bad that they lead to bullying. It's what is also happening now to those being blamed for his death. They literally had nothing to do with his death but people are believing whatever the media spits out without verification.
