Web series have been around for quite some time now, and with the rapid influence of streaming platforms it seems that the trend is catching on here in Pakistan . Our industry’s drama makers are hopping on the web series bandwagon as well.

Exclusive: Adnan Siddique & Amar Khan Collaborating For A Film!

The latest to have joined the list is director Anjum Shahzad who has previously made many major dramas including Feroze Khan and Sana Javed starrer Khaani. The director has a good team in place for the web-series as well.

As per sources, the web series is titled “Abdullahpur Ka Devdas”. Besides Anjum Shahzad sources have revealed that Alif Kitab Publication, which is ace writer Umera Ahmed’s company, is involved for the scripting. Sources have revealed that a new writer Shahid is on board for the project under Umera’s supervision.

Besides this, Group M which is a major media buying company, is behind the production of the series. Group M has recently produced Amir Yousaf’s upcoming police drama JanBaaz with Everyready pictures. The production company has also made Hamza Ali Abbasi starrer drama “Alif ” with producers Sana Shahnawaz,Samina Humayun Saeed .

When we inquired about the platform for the series, but we couldn’t get any definitive confirmation . The series will either first air on a local TV channel and then launch on a digital platform, or directly launch on an international platform. We have not received any official confirmation on “Abdullahpur Ka Devdas”. Considering the team on board it seems that the web series will be a mega project with promising cast on board. Keep an eye out on this space as we get more on the series!
