Hello everyone🤗 this is the second and final part to my TS. It became quite long actually😆 sorry for that. I am quite nervous about it 😒 but do give it a try😳 hope you all like it.

Rudhita OS/TS: The Certificate

Part 2

"Ani.... Anirudh, t...tum yahan kab aaye?" asked Mini still in shock that Anirudh heard her.

"Tabhi jab tum Bondita ko iss ghar se nikalne ka rasta bata rahi thi aur tab jab tum apne kaarnamon ke gungaan gaa rahi thi" said Anirudh trying to keep his voice as stable as possible.

"Nahi Anirudh... tum galat samajh rahe ho" said Mini nervously.

"Mai galat samajh raha hun? Tumhari himmat ki daat deni padegi!! Mere sab sunne aur dekhne ke baad bhi ye keh rahi ho tum mujhse? Aur kuch samajhne ki zarurat hai kya mujhe? asked Anirudh angrily, his voice quite
loud now.

Hearing the commotion everyone including Bondita came out of Roy Chowdhury house.

"Aap meri Pari didi pe kyun chilla rahe ho?"
asked Bondita to Anirudh sounding almost angry.

"Pari didi!!" said Anirudh in a sarcastic tone and gave a mirthless laugh while running his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Bondita ran an hugged Mini. Seeing this, laughter from Anirudh's face vanished.

"BIHARI....BIHARI!! Yahan aao" shouted Anirudh.

Bihari came running outside and asked nervously "Kya hua Malik?"

Anirudh pulled away Bondita forcibly away Mini. He somehow couldn't stand Bondita being so close to Mini when he knew what Mini was capable of and said to Bihari.

"Bondita aur Batuk ko andar leke jao aur dekho ki ye bahar naa aaye kuch der tak"

Bondita didn't like it and protested " Mujhe nahi jana kahin pe bhi, aap Pari didi pe chillaoge mujhe pata hai" said Bondita in a small voice.

"Bondita!! Maine kaha na andar jao, tumne kal mujhse vada kia tha na meri har baat manogi, toh abb jao, mai tumse baad me baat karunga" said Anirudh trying to keep his calm. He didn't want to scare her once again and indicated Bihari to take her inside the home and he obliged.

"Ye sab ho kya raha hai Anirudh? Tum Saudamini pe kyun chilla rahe ho?" asked a confused Trilochan

"Itni bhi koi badi baat nahi hui hai kaka. Yeh Anirudh khamakha baat ka batangad bana raha hai" said Saudamini as if nothing happened.

Anirudh looked at her in disbelief and argued "Tumhare liye badi baat nahi hogi Mini, par mere liye hai, chota ho ya bada, jhoot toh jhooth hota hai. Aapko pata hai kaka, mera certificate Bondita ne nahi Mini ne kharab kiya aur ilzam bechari Bondita pe daal dia isne. Aur upar se uksa rahi hai ye Bondita ko ki voh jaan bhuj kar apna bistar hila kare taaki use ye ghar chodna pade. Kya yeh fareb nahi?"

"Fareb toh voh hai jo tumne kia hai mere saath Anirudh. Pyaar kia mujhse, Zindagi bhar saath rehne ka vaada kia mujhse, aur byah karke lae aaye uss Bondita ko" retorted Mini trying to change the direction of this conversation.

"Baat ko badlo matt Mini. Tum toh aise keh rahi ho mano maine apni khushi se Bondita se shaadi ki ho. Tum bhi jaanti ho maine jo kuch bhi kia uss bacchi ki jaan bachane ke liye kia. Tumhe dhokha dene ke liye nahi" retorted Anirudh.

"Toh maine bhi toh ye sab tumhare liye hi toh kia, taaki tum iss zabardasti ke rishte se bahar aa sako" replied Mini trying to calm him down.

"Bass karo Mini, tum apne harkaton ka bhoj mujh par mat daalo. Mai janta hun, maine Bondita se shaadi majboori mein ki, lekin main kabhi bhi use iss ghar se bahar nikalne ki soch bhi nahi sakta. Kya maine tumse aake kaha, ki Mini kisi tarah Bondita ko meri zindagi se hatao, nahi na? Voh zimmedari hai meri aur main uss zimmedari se bhagna nahi chahta" replied Anirudh angrily.

"Par dukhi toh tum ho na Anirudh, mai bass tumhari madad karna chahti thi" blabbered Mini not knowing how to redeem herself infront of him

"Aur uss certificate ka kya? Use bhi tumne meri khushi ke liye kharab kia kya? Ye jaanne ke bavajood ki voh mere liye kitna keemti hai"

"Voh..voh mere paas koi rasta nahi tha, mujhe laga...aisa karne se use apne ghar vaapas bhej doge tum. Aur Bondita bhi toh yahi chahti hai, use apni maa ke paas jana tha, itni dukhi thi voh. Mujhse uska dukh dekha nahi gaya. Aur voh ek certificate hi toh hai, kya fark padta hai? Vaise bhi tumne Bondita ko toh maaf kardia tha na, mujhe bhi kardo" said Mini nervously seeing Anirudh getting angry. She really didn't know what else to say to convince him. She could see her words weren't having any affect on him.

"Bondita bacchi hai Mini, use nahi pata uske liye kya sahi hai aur kya galat. Par tum toh badi ho, use samjhane ke bajay, tum uske saamne accha banne ka natak karke usi ke khilaf saajish karti chali gayi? Pari didi kehti hai voh tumhe, kam se kam iss baat ka toh lihaz kar leti" he said annoyed beyond measure at Mini's petty reasons.He couldn't believe he was talking to the same girl who was his childhood friend. What had happened to her, or was she always like this? He added as an afterthought "Uss certificate ke baar mein kya kaha tumne? Ek certificate hi toh hai? Voh sirf ek certificate nahi hai Mini, mere liye meri padhai, meri mehnat ka prateek tha voh. Lekin ye baat tum kahan samjhogi, jisne kabhi kissi cheez ke liye mehnat na ki ho use inn sab cheezon ki keemat kahan pata hogi" said Anirudh giving a sarcastic smirk.

Mini's head shot up at this. How could Anirudh insult her like that? "Dekho, Anirudh, tum mujhse......." started Mini but was interrupted by Binoy. "Kya karr rahe ho tum dono, itni si baat ke liye itni ladai, abb chodo iss baat ko Anirudh" said Binoy. He could see situation was getting out of hand and Anirudh was getting angrier every passing minute and he couldn't let Anirudh and Saudamini break apart like this.

Anirudh couldn't believe his father was asking him to let this matter go just like that. Yesterday he himself made a hullabaloo of the matter and now he was hushing it up. But before he could speak anything, Trilochan, who was till now a silent spectator, spoke up "Kya baat hai Binoy, kal jab sabne socha ki Bondita ne Anirudh ka certificate kharab kia hai, tab toh tum keh rehe the, ye daag certificate par nahi hai, ye daag Anirudh ke naam pe hai, uske bhavishya pe hai, vagere vagera. Kal toh Anirudh ko tana maarne mein koi kasar nahi chodi tumne, par aaj jab tumhari laadli Saudamini ki baat aayi toh tum kehe rahe ho jane do iss baat ko" said Trilochan taunting Binoy. His face was pretty blank but sarcasm was dripping from his tone. Binoy rolled his eyes.

Mini was getting angry now, first Anirudh and now Kaka was speaking like this. What wrong had she done that they were getting so worked up that too for Bondita. "Mujhe yakeen nahi hota ki tum uss kal ki aayi hui gavaar ladki ke liye apni Mini se ladd rahe ho. Mujhse tumhe cheen liya usne, toh kya umeed rakhte ho tum mujhse, ki zindagi bhar mai uski dekh baal karun? Itni mahaan nahi hun main" blurted out Mini in her anger.

"Gaavar tum use bol rahi ho par gavaaron vale kaam toh tumne kia hai. Itni padhi likhi hone ke bavajood, ek certificate ki keemat nahi samajhti? Aur agar voh itni hi napasand hai tumhe toh uska khayal rakhne ka naatak kyun kia tumne, maine toh aake tumse bhig nahi mangi thi ki Mini, aao Bondita ki madad karo, khayal rakho uska!!" retorted Anirudh. She was really getting on his nerves now. What happened to her was wrong, but no way Bondita was responsible for it. She was as much the victim of the situation as he was. If Mini didn't like Bondita, he wouldn't blame her but acting all nice in front of the child but plotting behind her back was disgusting.

"Ho kya gaya hai tumhe? Tum mujhe gavaar
keh rahe ho? Mujhe toh ye samajh nahi aata ki tum karna kya chahte ho? Patni tum use maante nahi, toh kya phir bhi zindagi bhar isss ghar mein rakhoge use? Ye shaadi karke tumne jo galti ki hai, usse tumhe bahar nikaalne ke liye tumhari madad kar rahi thi main bass! Aur uske liye thoda jhooth bol diya maine toh galat kya kia?" said Mini angrily her face turned red with anger.

"Galti meri hi hai jo maine tumpe bharosa kia. Maine usi din kaha tha tumse, gandagi chahe mann ke bhitar chupe jhooth ke karan ho ya kachre ke karan, mujhe bilkul nahi bhaati. Par tumne toh ye baat suni nahi hogi na. Khair meri jitni madad karni thi tumne kardi. Mujhe apni zindagi mein kya karna hai, mai khud soch sakta hun. Par abse tum Bondita se, meri zindagi se aur iss ghar ke maamlon se door rahogi" said Anirudh folding his hands in the end. "Aur haan, mein umeed rakhta hun ki itni self-respect toh hogi tumme ki phir yahan par bin bulaye naa aayo" he said, his frustration taking better of him and walked away from there. He didn't know what else to tell. What could he convince a person who saw no fault at all in her doings, it was like banging your head to a wall. It was just better to walk away.

Mini stood there in shock looking at Anirudh's retreating figure. She couldn't believe he talked to her like that and asked her to stay away from his life for that Bondita.

Binoy and Som looked very grim at the turn of events. Kaka looked like he would jump with joy at any moment. "Suna na Saudamini, Anirudh ne kya kaha tumse. Vaise, Abb Anirudh ki bhi shaadi hogayi hai. Tumhe bhi abb apni aage ki zindagi ke baare mein sochna chahiye yahaan iss ghar mein poore din pade rehne ke bajay" said Trilochan cooly.

Mini's was burning with rage heating this. 'What do Kaka and Anirudh think of themselves, how could they insult her like that' she thought angrily to herself. She couldn't stand all these insults anymore.She stomped her feet making a loud noise and walked away angrily.

Binoy stared at Trilochan. "Kyun, kuch galat kaha kya humne?" asked Trilochan with a straight face and walked away rolling his eyes.

Anirudh was sitting in his study thinking about whatever happened today. He really felt cheated. He had trusted Mini so blindly. Was this the girl he dreamed of marrying his whole life? What was wrong with her? And how could she play Bondita like that? Bondita adored Mini so much. Probably trusted her more than anybody here. What was she to know, her Pari didi was the reason why she got so humiliated in front of the family yesterday. A lump formed in his throat recalling how Bondita was hiding behind Mini yesterday and hugging her tightly as if her life depended on it. And he felt more disgusted at Mini. The worst part was she didn't even have an ounce of remorse for what she had done.

But then he was no less. He felt guilty for his own inability to own up to his responsibilities. He was the one who brought Bondita here. It was his responsibility to make sure she was well or not, whether she had any problems, but he never bothered. He was busy pitying himself for his plight. But now, he decided, he had to keep Bondita away from Mini and also make sure Bondita was happy and safe here.

Anirudh entered Bondita's room where she was making a drawing. He went and sat beside her. She saw him and suddenly hid that paper behind her back.

"Arey, kya hua, tum kya chupa rahi ho? Dikhao mujhe" he asked. She cutely nodded her head in a no and said "nahi aap gussa karoge"

"Nahi baba, gussa nahi karunga, chalo dikhao" said Anirudh with a smile. She hesitantly showed him the drawing which was of a guy who was shouting at few people with horns on his head. "Ye kya hai?" asked a confused Anirudh. Bondita looked away guiltily and then he realised the drawing was of him and he started laughing, well he was like that, screaming his lungs out at people most of the time. He couldn't really blame her, it was on him to change her perspective about him.

"Aap gussa nahi ho?" asked Bondita in a small voice.

"Nahi hun. Lekin mere koi seengh nahi hai" he said with a smile. And she smiled back.

"Aap Pari didi pe chilla kyun rahe the aaj subah?" asked Bondita suddenly.

He was expecting this question from her but wasn't really ready to answer. What should he tell her? The truth? Would she believe it, and even if she does, wouldn't she be heartbroken? And he somehow didn't want to drag her in this fight. He decided not to tell her about Mini.

"Voh meri saheli haina, aur doston mein jhagde hote rehte hain. Tum nahi jhagadti kya apne doston se?" he told her wondering whether he could call Mini his friend anymore.

"Haan mai bhi jhagadti hun par kabhi kabar" said Bondita giggling.

"Accha Bondita, tum abse Mini didi se matt milna, thik hai?" said Anirudh. He wanted her to stay away from Mini but didn't know how to put it or convince her regarding this, so he just blurted out in a hurry.

"Kya? Par kyun nahi mil sakti mai Pari didi se?" she asked shocked.

"Voh...voh, Mini ko ghar ka bohot kaam hota hai na, use apne baba ka, dida ka khayal rakhna padta hai. Tum usse poore din baaten karogi toh voh ye sab kaise karegi, uski dida usse naraz hojaegi na?" blabbered Anirudh, himself not convinced with his stupid reasoning but hoping against hope that Bondita got convinced.

Bondita sadly looked down and said "Phir mai kisse baat karungi yahan, koi mujhse baat nahi karta, poore din mai kya karungi, koi mere saath khelta bhi nahi mere saath yahan"

Anirudh smiled at this "Iska upaay hai mere paas. Tum school jaogi. Vaise tum konsi kaksha mein ho?" he said simply. He had decided, while he was coming to talk to her that he should admit her to a school. It was high time he did. All these days he was so immersed in his problems had almost forgotten she was a kid and needed to go to school to get good education. And this seemed to be a perfect time as that would make sure she gets busy with her studies and stays away from Mini too.

"Yeh sch..scho..kool kya hota hai?" asked a curious Bondita looking up.

"School matlab vidyalay. Tum yahan aane se pehle toh jaati hogi na apne gaon ke vidyalay mein" asked Anirudh.

" Nahi mai toh kabhi nahi gayi, hamare gaon mein toh sirf ladke jaate hain vidyalay" replied Bondita and then added "iseeliye toh, aap jo mujhe roz kitabein dete rehte hain, main pad nahi paati aur aapne jo ghadi di kal, mujhe usme samay dekhna bhi nahi aata" hoping he would stop hoarding her with books.

"Kya? tumhe padna likhna nahi aata? Pehle bataya kyun nahi?" asked Anirudh already feeling stupid that he didn't know these things about her. But he found it so strange and unfair that only boys were allowed to go to school in her village. He didn't seem to know a lot of things.

"Apne kabhi poocha hi nahi" she retorted immediately.

He laughed at his own ignorance and said "Koi baat nahi abb chali jana vidyalay. Aur tumhe samay dekhna mai sikha dunga taaki ki tum vakt vakt par paani pi sako apni aadat sudharne ke liye". Then suddenly a thought struck him. "Agar tumhe padhna likhna nahi aata toh voh patra kaise likha tumne?" he asked genuinely curious.

She started laughing at this. "Voh toh maine gaon ke ladkon se likhvaya tha, unhe pedh se bandha aur main jo bolun likhne ke liye kaha" said Bondita happily.

"Kya?" asked Anirudh clearly amused as he picturised a tiny Bondita bullying village boys to write her letter and he couldn't help but laugh at this with her. "Abb tum vidyalay jaogi toh tumhe kisiko darana nahi padegi patra likhne ke liye, tum khud likh paogi, naye mitra milenge tumhe bate karne ke liye, khelne ke liye" said Anirudh.

"Shotti? Phir mai meri maa ko patra likhungi" she said happily brightening up at the idea of going to school.

He was relieved, she got convinced to go to school. There was something else he wanted to tell her, so he started hesitantly "Bondita abb se tumhe koi bhi baat karni ho, kuch bhi takleef ho tum sabse pehle aake mujhe bataogi, thik hai?" he said to her a bit nervous of her reaction.

She looked at him silently probably weighing her options. He added "Mai vaada karta hun, gussa nahi karunga, tumpe chillaunga bhi nahi aur shanti se tumhari baat sununga, bilkul ek acche mitra ki tarah. Mujhe banaogi na apna dost?"

This seemed to have reassured her "Shotti? Aap mere mitra banenge?" she asked with a big smile on her face clearly liking the idea of Anirudh being her friend.

"Haan, haan, kyun nahi banunga?" said Anirudh genuinely.

"Toh mai abhi aapka accha wala chita banaungi" said Bondita happily and got started with her drawing and Anirudh couldn't help but smile at her innocence.

Pari didi kehti hai voh tumhe, kam se kam iss baat ka toh lihaz kar leti" he said annoyed beyond measure at Mini's petty reasons.He couldn't believe he was talking to the same girl who was his childhood friend. What had happened to her, or was she always like this? He added as an afterthought "Uss certificate ke baar mein kya kaha tumne? Ek certificate hi toh hai? Voh sirf ek certificate nahi hai Mini, mere liye meri padhai, meri mehnat ka prateek tha voh. Lekin ye baat tum kahan samjhogi, jisne kabhi kissi cheez ke liye mehnat na ki ho use inn sab cheezon ki keemat kahan pata hogi" said Anirudh giving a sarcastic smirk.

Mini's head shot up at this. How could Anirudh insult her like that? "Dekho, Anirudh, tum mujhse......." started Mini but was interrupted by Binoy. "Kya karr rahe ho tum dono, itni si baat ke liye itni ladai, abb chodo iss baat ko Anirudh" said Binoy. He could see situation was getting out of hand and Anirudh was getting angrier every passing minute and he couldn't let Anirudh and Saudamini break apart like this.

Anirudh couldn't believe his father was asking him to let this matter go just like that. Yesterday he himself made a hullabaloo of the matter and now he was hushing it up. But before he could speak anything, Trilochan, who was till now a silent spectator, spoke up "Kya baat hai Binoy, kal jab sabne socha ki Bondita ne Anirudh ka certificate kharab kia hai, tab toh tum keh rehe the, ye daag certificate par nahi hai, ye daag Anirudh ke naam pe hai, uske bhavishya pe hai, vagere vagera. Kal toh Anirudh ko tana maarne mein koi kasar nahi chodi tumne, par aaj jab tumhari laadli Saudamini ki baat aayi toh tum kehe rahe ho jane do iss baat ko" said Trilochan taunting Binoy. His face was pretty blank but sarcasm was dripping from his tone. Binoy rolled his eyes.

Mini was getting angry now, first Anirudh and now Kaka was speaking like this. What wrong had she done that they were getting so worked up that too for Bondita. "Mujhe yakeen nahi hota ki tum uss kal ki aayi hui gavaar ladki ke liye apni Mini se ladd rahe ho. Mujhse tumhe cheen liya usne, toh kya umeed rakhte ho tum mujhse, ki zindagi bhar mai uski dekh baal karun? Itni mahaan nahi hun main" blurted out Mini in her anger.

"Gaavar tum use bol rahi ho par gavaaron vale kaam toh tumne kia hai. Itni padhi likhi hone ke bavajood, ek certificate ki keemat nahi samajhti? Aur agar voh itni hi napasand hai tumhe toh uska khayal rakhne ka naatak kyun kia tumne, maine toh aake tumse bhig nahi mangi thi ki Mini, aao Bondita ki madad karo, khayal rakho uska!!" retorted Anirudh. She was really getting on his nerves now. What happened to her was wrong, but no way Bondita was responsible for it. She was as much the victim of the situation as he was. If Mini didn't like Bondita, he wouldn't blame her but acting all nice in front of the child but plotting behind her back was disgusting.

"Ho kya gaya hai tumhe? Tum mujhe gavaar
keh rahe ho? Mujhe toh ye samajh nahi aata ki tum karna kya chahte ho? Patni tum use maante nahi, toh kya phir bhi zindagi bhar isss ghar mein rakhoge use? Ye shaadi karke tumne jo galti ki hai, usse tumhe bahar nikaalne ke liye tumhari madad kar rahi thi main bass! Aur uske liye thoda jhooth bol diya maine toh galat kya kia?" said Mini angrily her face turned red with anger.

"Galti meri hi hai jo maine tumpe bharosa kia. Maine usi din kaha tha tumse, gandagi chahe mann ke bhitar chupe jhooth ke karan ho ya kachre ke karan, mujhe bilkul nahi bhaati. Par tumne toh ye baat suni nahi hogi na. Khair meri jitni madad karni thi tumne kardi. Mujhe apni zindagi mein kya karna hai, mai khud soch sakta hun. Par abse tum Bondita se, meri zindagi se aur iss ghar ke maamlon se door rahogi" said Anirudh folding his hands in the end. "Aur haan, mein umeed rakhta hun ki itni self-respect toh hogi tumme ki phir yahan par bin bulaye naa aayo" he said, his frustration taking better of him and walked away from there. He didn't know what else to tell. What could he convince a person who saw no fault at all in her doings, it was like banging your head to a wall. It was just better to walk away.

Mini stood there in shock looking at Anirudh's retreating figure. She couldn't believe he talked to her like that and asked her to stay away from his life for that Bondita.

Binoy and Som looked very grim at the turn of events. Kaka looked like he would jump with joy at any moment. "Suna na Saudamini, Anirudh ne kya kaha tumse. Vaise, Abb Anirudh ki bhi shaadi hogayi hai. Tumhe bhi abb apni aage ki zindagi ke baare mein sochna chahiye yahaan iss ghar mein poore din pade rehne ke bajay" said Trilochan cooly.

Mini's was burning with rage heating this. 'What do Kaka and Anirudh think of themselves, how could they insult her like that' she thought angrily to herself. She couldn't stand all these insults anymore.She stomped her feet making a loud noise and walked away angrily.

Binoy stared at Trilochan. "Kyun, kuch galat kaha kya humne?" asked Trilochan with a straight face and walked away rolling his eyes.

Anirudh was sitting in his study thinking about whatever happened today. He really felt cheated. He had trusted Mini so blindly. Was this the girl he dreamed of marrying his whole life? What was wrong with her? And how could she play Bondita like that? Bondita adored Mini so much. Probably trusted her more than anybody here. What was she to know, her Pari didi was the reason why she got so humiliated in front of the family yesterday. A lump formed in his throat recalling how Bondita was hiding behind Mini yesterday and hugging her tightly as if her life depended on it. And he felt more disgusted at Mini. The worst part was she didn't even have an ounce of remorse for what she had done.

But then he was no less. He felt guilty for his own inability to own up to his responsibilities. He was the one who brought Bondita here. It was his responsibility to make sure she was well or not, whether she had any problems, but he never bothered. He was busy pitying himself for his plight. But now, he decided, he had to keep Bondita away from Mini and also make sure Bondita was happy and safe here.

Anirudh entered Bondita's room where she was making a drawing. He went and sat beside her. She saw him and suddenly hid that paper behind her back.

"Arey, kya hua, tum kya chupa rahi ho? Dikhao mujhe" he asked. She cutely nodded her head in a no and said "nahi aap gussa karoge"

"Nahi baba, gussa nahi karunga, chalo dikhao" said Anirudh with a smile. She hesitantly showed him the drawing which was of a guy who was shouting at few people with horns on his head. "Ye kya hai?" asked a confused Anirudh. Bondita looked away guiltily and then he realised the drawing was of him and he started laughing, well he was like that, screaming his lungs out at people most of the time. He couldn't really blame her, it was on him to change her perspective about him.

"Aap gussa nahi ho?" asked Bondita in a small voice.

"Nahi hun. Lekin mere koi seengh nahi hai" he said with a smile. And she smiled back.

"Aap Pari didi pe chilla kyun rahe the aaj subah?" asked Bondita suddenly.

He was expecting this question from her but wasn't really ready to answer. What should he tell her? The truth? Would she believe it, and even if she does, wouldn't she be heartbroken? And he somehow didn't want to drag her in this fight. He decided not to tell her about Mini.

"Voh meri saheli haina, aur doston mein jhagde hote rehte hain. Tum nahi jhagadti kya apne doston se?" he told her wondering whether he could call Mini his friend anymore.

"Haan mai bhi jhagadti hun par kabhi kabar" said Bondita giggling.

"Accha Bondita, tum abse Mini didi se matt milna, thik hai?" said Anirudh. He wanted her to stay away from Mini but didn't know how to put it or convince her regarding this, so he just blurted out in a hurry.

"Kya? Par kyun nahi mil sakti mai Pari didi se?" she asked shocked.

"Voh...voh, Mini ko ghar ka bohot kaam hota hai na, use apne baba ka, dida ka khayal rakhna padta hai. Tum usse poore din baaten karogi toh voh ye sab kaise karegi, uski dida usse naraz hojaegi na?" blabbered Anirudh, himself not convinced with his stupid reasoning but hoping against hope that Bondita got convinced.

Bondita sadly looked down and said "Phir mai kisse baat karungi yahan, koi mujhse baat nahi karta, poore din mai kya karungi, koi mere saath khelta bhi nahi mere saath yahan"

Anirudh smiled at this "Iska upaay hai mere paas. Tum school jaogi. Vaise tum konsi kaksha mein ho?" he said simply. He had decided, while he was coming to talk to her that he should admit her to a school. It was high time he did. All these days he was so immersed in his problems had almost forgotten she was a kid and needed to go to school to get good education. And this seemed to be a perfect time as that would make sure she gets busy with her studies and stays away from Mini too.

"Yeh sch..scho..kool kya hota hai?" asked a curious Bondita looking up.

"School matlab vidyalay. Tum yahan aane se pehle toh jaati hogi na apne gaon ke vidyalay mein" asked Anirudh.

" Nahi mai toh kabhi nahi gayi, hamare gaon mein toh sirf ladke jaate hain vidyalay" replied Bondita and then added "iseeliye toh, aap jo mujhe roz kitabein dete rehte hain, main pad nahi paati aur aapne jo ghadi di kal, mujhe usme samay dekhna bhi nahi aata" hoping he would stop hoarding her with books.

"Kya? tumhe padna likhna nahi aata? Pehle bataya kyun nahi?" asked Anirudh already feeling stupid that he didn't know these things about her. But he found it so strange and unfair that only boys were allowed to go to school in her village. He didn't seem to know a lot of things.

"Apne kabhi poocha hi nahi" she retorted immediately.

He laughed at his own ignorance and said "Koi baat nahi abb chali jana vidyalay. Aur tumhe samay dekhna mai sikha dunga taaki ki tum vakt vakt par paani pi sako apni aadat sudharne ke liye". Then suddenly a thought struck him. "Agar tumhe padhna likhna nahi aata toh voh patra kaise likha tumne?" he asked genuinely curious.

She started laughing at this. "Voh toh maine gaon ke ladkon se likhvaya tha, unhe pedh se bandha aur main jo bolun likhne ke liye kaha" said Bondita happily.

"Kya?" asked Anirudh clearly amused as he picturised a tiny Bondita bullying village boys to write her letter and he couldn't help but laugh at this with her. "Abb tum vidyalay jaogi toh tumhe kisiko darana nahi padegi patra likhne ke liye, tum khud likh paogi, naye mitra milenge tumhe bate karne ke liye, khelne ke liye" said Anirudh.

"Shotti? Phir mai meri maa ko patra likhungi" she said happily brightening up at the idea of going to school.

He was relieved, she got convinced to go to school. There was something else he wanted to tell her, so he started hesitantly "Bondita abb se tumhe koi bhi baat karni ho, kuch bhi takleef ho tum sabse pehle aake mujhe bataogi, thik hai?" he said to her a bit nervous of her reaction.

She looked at him silently probably weighing her options. He added "Mai vaada karta hun, gussa nahi karunga, tumpe chillaunga bhi nahi aur shanti se tumhari baat sununga, bilkul ek acche mitra ki tarah. Mujhe banaogi na apna dost?"

This seemed to have reassured her "Shotti? Aap mere mitra banenge?" she asked with a big smile on her face clearly liking the idea of Anirudh being her friend.

"Haan, haan, kyun nahi banunga?" said Anirudh genuinely.

"Toh mai abhi aapka accha wala chita banaungi" said Bondita happily and got started with her drawing and Anirudh couldn't help but smile at her innocence.
