Who calls anyone "Kaalu" from a place of love? Its been used derogatorily for South Indians too so its not a new thing or something which will change in Indians.

Kalu word is derogatory , even if you are calling your friends that . 

As much as I hate Swara, she's absolutely right on this. Kalu is very offensive to call any dark-skinned person. 

Yes, sometimes we dont have any negative intentions, but still the word itself is derogatory.

If the person didn't know before but now that Darren has come out and said that he doesn't appreciate being addressed as "Kalu" then he should apologize ASAP
