They never really got full freedom and if you watch the documentary 13th you'll see all this was going to burst one day.

while racism And police brutality exists and we must deal with it with better laws and grass roots efforts to educate people, looting, riots actually takes away from the cause. Even here, we are NOT engaging in a dialogue about how we can collectively do better, we are worried for our lives, angry at rioters/ looters. Even in the media, no one is talking about how we can do better, experts in the field aren’t given airtime to give their input. Even in today’s press briefings..., ONE person asks what is trump doing in terms of legislature, etc? How much air time have we devoted to riots/mobs/ looting, that could have devoted to educating people, talking about removing immunity to cops who break the law.

Coming to your post, there is no karma here. You are referring to the tea party, the whole history of black America to justify riots/ looting/lynching. The truth is we have to do better, but truth also is that in America everyone has rights, it’s a different matter that people may feel they don’t have access to those rights, but that’s where society has to bring change via legislation/ social initiatives to uplift the disadvantaged

This hurts the minorities and the low income communities. Low income housing building burned down in Minnesota. David Dorn a black man, 38 years in the force, shot dead. If one life lost unjustly is one too many, then we should think of these people too.

When I see people justify violence, telling people matter( when people are dying), we will rebuild, it’s just them pushing their agenda.
while we are discussing BLM, we should also talk about the largely ignored black on black murders, which also contribute to black people dying . Most recent one, Nipsey Hussle, Shot dead by a black man in 2019, his murderers trial is still pending.

Lot of Indian Americans and African Americans minorities’ stores got looted. Which karma are they paying for according to you?

What logic to justify looting and riots. 🤷‍♀️ People like you are doing the great disservice to BLM movement.

I'm so sorry that happened to your cousin and I think I might have been very callous with my wording. But what I meant is what I heard from Trevor Noah's monolouge (https://twitter.com/TheDailyShow/status/1266523374207057922?s=20) where he talks about this in a more eloquent way and maybe I shouldn't have used the word karma. But hearing this and than other people dealing with this their whole lives talk about it, made me understand their actions and this anger than I haven't seen before.

Again, I'm sorry and I take back the word karma.

I get where you are coming from. You don’t have to apologize. But hearing one person and making large judgment about karma ain’t helping BLM.

That target store doesn’t matter. Big chain stores aren’t the issue, they will rebuild, it’s the small businesses. I saw on news one black lady crying profusely coz her store got looted. She said corona lockdown broke her back financially and now this looting completely robbed her off everything she saved in past years. In our crest to do better by Black People, by supporting riots and looting, we are again doing disservice to same minorities.

And I accept that every opportunists out there is taking advantage and looting whatever they can. It’s not protestors only. Some are coming in fancy cars and looting stores n running away. They have no care for BLM.

This is why when the first looting started, each and everyone should have condemned it. Rather people were busy justifying it.
When you justify looting, you are giving criminals immunity. In social media age, to gather 100 people at one place takes 5 minutes. So every type of opportunists flocked to take advantage. What escalated afterwards is the result of initial riots being glorified.

I live in FL and many desi businesses here got looted and burned. For Indian restaurants the glasses were broken, indian jewelry store was looted, the plaza was set on fire where one store burned down completely and the rest have damage from fire. Gas stations and small stores owned by south asian community were either looted or literally set on fire. My dad's friend opened the door to his store to help a woman who had gotten pepper sprayed. The looters got in, grabbed things and then set the place on fire.

So my bleeding heart totally understands why this protest is happening and why it's so important. I also understand that talking about the looters distracts us from the main message of the protest. But innocent people are suffering because of looters and there is no shame in discussing what they are doing is wrong. I hate that people try to justify it by saying yeah it's wrong but now imagine how they must feel. I would understand if they were targeting the privileged who have caused them misery. But most looting is happening in black neighborhoods or other minority neighborhoods. They are making the poor people suffer more than anything.

Exactly, looting and vandalism need to be condemned. I still don't see much of the condemnation from people who are supporting protest . That said, it is also not fair to label protestors as looters. There are many protests who has been going on peacefully but I see many people labeling blame on rightful protestors for the looting. Media house are busy showing looting only. Those looters have nothing to with protest. They are opportunist pigs who are harmimg both protest and business owners.

But we’re in cancel culture where these people make idiotic statements and then get cut off from everything. Will it happen to Brees or will he just say sorry and everyone move on

Feeling bad for people who lost their livelihood

I hope and pray that perpetrators who committed vandalism and looting are caught utilizing CCTV cameras and are put behind bars!

Trevor's narratives are often heavily one-sided......... i used to follow him a lot, until i realize he is not as neutral as he seems to be

After hearing half of this monologue, i read about that Cooper woman.....and while both of them were wrong in their own ways, Trevor's monologue doesnt consider what that guy did... he generalized it into other crimes.....he completely disregarded the fact that a stranger was filming that lady without her consent, that too in an isolated forest area........and while i do understand that her calling 911 and accusing that guy, making it look like a african-american was hurting her is wrong.......but we cannot negate the fact that maybe she was scared that a stranger was filming her and not listening to her and maybe that is the reason of her reaction..........esp us girls will realize how scary it can seem when some stranger doesnt heed to our request, esp in a isolated area.....
