Most of the countries around the world have opened up as everyone is thinking that only herd immunity is the cure as vaccine for COVID might never be found.

We all have to live with this virus too.. just like other viruses which don't have a cure so far like HIV

May be a year. By that time 50-70% of the population would be infected and would have developed herd immunity. So chances of infection would be less then, and would be safe for people with co-morbidities and old age to step out.

But people like Amitabh are in real danger because 1) he's already very old and 2) he has had severe health issues in the past. I don't think people like him should step out if they like living.
