You're right actually. Neither has the star aura.
Sad part is, if Ayushman gives a couple of hits out of his genre, he'll likely tip over into stardom territory. Whereas I can't see Alia doing the same. Kalank was probably one such attempt, but audience is much more forgiving toward a male actor with average looks than a plain Jane.
I cared enough to comment on them
Alia - manufactured stardom (as I wrote in my latest post)
Ayushman - banks on good scripts and that has fueled his career graph
They both don't have the aura of stardom but the similarity ends there. Ayushman has worked his own way up and is a decent actor. Alia is a mediocre actress and product of nepotism.
I was looking for this post👏
Alia herself admits to this.
"I'm happy my films are doing well, but I still know that there’s a long way to go. I am not delusional when it comes to all this. I do realise that Varun (Dhawan) has more mass following than I have and there’s no shame in admitting that. He’s doing well for himself and I’m trying to build my audience, too. So, I don’t let all this talk affect me," said the actor.

Now that Ranveer 's movie is a BB she wants to be linked to him. I hope he learned his lesson with Rocky aur Rani. She has no shame at all. "...
