The books like Geeta press KMG etc are verse by verse translation, what you said might be true for CE though

Don't know if the Shiva boon story maligns Draupadi or not. It definitely maligns Shiva.

Some one asks a child give me a glass of water 5 times, the child will still bring 1 glass of water.

Shiva seems more stupid than a child in this story, the one who from whom every knowledge originates in the world, the one who knows everything in every life form's mind and hence called antaryami does not understand she is asking for 1 husband even if she asks 5 times

Why would he give her 5 if she wanted one.

I have also read these 2 other things abt draupadi.

When Ghatotkacha visited his father’s kingdom for the first time, he did not pay respect to Drauapdi on his mother’s (Hidimba’s) orders. Draupadi felt humiliated and she got very angry. She shouted at him that she was an exceptional person, she was the queen of Yudhisthira, she was the daughter of a Brahmin king, and her status was far higher than that of the Pandavas. And at his wicked Asur mother behest he had dared to insult her in the august assembly of elders, sages and kings!

This one is from Kasi Dasa's MB (Bengali one). 🥱

Kasiram Das is patriarchal nonsense. He is the one who invented this Jambu fruit incident if I am not wrong. Draupadi is a cunning bloodthirsty woman there. Idk, not all Bengali authors are this way. But Bengali MB glorifies Karna like a god and treats women like nothing. It's sexist.

I had heard that the story was she mentioned 5 qualities but didn't mention she wants all 5 qualities in one husband so Shiva have her 5 husband with one quality

Yudhi- Dharma gyani

Bheem - strong

Arjun - skillful warrior, best in warfare

Nakul- handsome

Sahdev - intelligent, knowledgeable.

I still don't believe this though. It's faith. A story IMO.

Why is CE considered more authentic then Geeta Press and KMG then?

Because CE is after lots of research they remove the portions they feel were later interpolations using many techniques including carbon dating of manuscripts. They definitely are more authentic that texts which just translate everything they give

There however is a glitch, there could be a minute possibility that by some wrong inference they remove a genuine verse

Oriya Mahabharata has high regards for both Duryodhan and Karna.

I guess it's because those states supported Kauravas in the war. They can't say their ancestors favoured the sinners

Ahh alright, apart from Karna's rejection by Draupadi what else have been removed?

I haven't read CE word by word hence the curiosity 😆
