Ending of Kalank

I just re-watched this movie last night n Amazon Prime and maybe this topic has been done already here but I'm relatively new and can't find it.

Anywho, can someone explain to me if they all are dead and in their heaven:

1. Alia is dancing around with Zafar

2. Dev reunites with Satya

3. Sanjay's character can only see Madhuri from afar and can never be with her b/c of the way he treated in rea life that he will be separated forever in the afterlife

Or is it just the 3 living characters daydreaming about their dead loves? I'm still a lil confused when Alia opens and closes are eyes. Like is she dead or still alive?

That last scene is Bollywood's answer to Inception 🤣

To answer your question, this is what I assumed:

When Zafar is shown holding Roop's arm, she is pretty much alive. The colours of their outfits give it away, Roop is in red while Zafar is in white. Her monologue is when she is alive and she is breaking the 4th wall and talking to the audience.

I felt that when she closes her eyes and everyone is in white outfits that was a premonition she has of the afterlife. At the same time I feel it was a flash forward, showing the couples reuniting in heaven while Begum and Balraj find peace in the afterlife.

I don’t even remember that scene. I think by that point of the movie, I must haven fallen 10 years deep into an open eyed coma 😳.

However, I do recall (quite vividly) pulling my hair out from frustration when Alia’s character decided to ‘consummate’ her marriage that very same night she was given the choice to THINK about her relationship. COULD SHE HAVE NOT WAITED A BIT LONGER (preferably until Varun came running to her balcony 😑).

In my memory she was shouting zafar utho..bhago zafar so that he gets on the train but woh manhoos kunal khemu ajata hai n kills him.💔 Then she and aditya somehow reach another city with all the slaughter n hungama..while sanjay dutt is already safely there..i thought he was dead..but baba pohonch gya. Pata nahi konsi bus pakar kar but pohonch gya..eik beta mar gya..eik jese tese apni biwi ko lekar pohoncha zinda but baba pohonch gya white istre wale suite mein.

i fast forwarded some of the confrontation scenes b/c they were so meh, but I can't figure out for the life of me why she does this whole i wanna be your wife and at the end it's like they're complete strangers and he gave her the freedom to leave.

I just don't get the point of the last 30 seconds 😆

Re-watching Breaking Bad is okay. It is really that good. But Kalank? Come on. There are so many new web series and films on OTT. How's it possible you have seen everything?
