When Duryodhana shouted "Pitashree" at the time of his death, I felt really bad actually. If only Dhritarasthra was a better father. šŸ˜”

Wow, talk about being cold blooded. 😲Ashwatthama I can understand, he is hell bent on revenge, but Kulguru Kripacharya? Wow!

They burnt the Pandavas camp too, killing innocent soilders. šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

Also, I believe Ashwatthama knew he was slaying the kids and that they were not the Pandavas. He also got back in time to let Duryodhana know.

Anyway, Ashwatthama using a Bhramastra ( I think it was called Brahmshira in the texts) without knowing how to pull it back is malicious to the extreme.🤢 he wanted to destroy the entire lineage. I believe it was a nuclear weapon.šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

Rest of my comments : after PM's speechšŸ˜ƒšŸ˜†

Edit:

Well, not much happened after except Ashwatthama getting his due. I don't believe he is immortal and is still existing (I actually don't believe in the seven immortals at all. It goes against laws of nature), I think it was just an unusual long painful life.

And despite of Parikshit being born dead, Krishna revived him 😳

@bold - Even I feel bad for Duryodhan.

He stands for arrogance, conceit, envy and poisonous contempt. This was coupled with the blind ambition engraved and nurtured in his heart and mind by his father. If anything bad turns worst, it has to end. Thus, Dury's painful death. I am totally against his way of perceiving the world but somehow I can read the script of programming that goes behind his psychological make-up.

The credit for not making Duryodhan completely loathsome goes to Puneet Issar. In fact, a lot of the times he looked cute like an innocent but stubborn child. The conviction with which he had played Dury has persuaded me that he really felt empathetic towards the character. He made the role grey, although leaning towards the darker edge, instead of black.

Once again for Puneet siršŸ‘.

I feel Ashwathama is the WORST of all 🤬

And they missed Shikhandi's killing, shayad Paintal ji busy the

Kripacharya and Kritvarma did support the night attack.

But I don't understand, didn't they have some doctors that they could have called to at least try soothing Duryodhan

I thought Duryodhan was alive till he got the news from Ashwathama and then died, will recheck it here

That last line remembering his father was so empathetic. I too actually felt bad for him for a moment, but then it was only momentary since Duryodhan deserved the painful death he received. In fact he died as a warrior fighting against the enemies made him a martyr instead of a criminal. I would have hated him all the more if he would have agreed for the peace treaty on the last day. His death howsoever painful was actually a reward to him, giving him one positive in his life

Dhritrashtra was like majority of the fathers, who try to achieve their unfulfilled desires through their kids, something remains common in Dwapar Yug and Kaliyuga.

Kripacharya did try to stop Ashwathama, but he said that no one has followed the war rules so why shall they care now (actually a valid point), Pandavas assumed that the war was over, that doesn't happen at your thought. Ashwathama was the Senapati and Kripacharya being a part of his army couldn't have rejected his order.

Yes that weapon was Brahmshir. Rest what he did was not even worth saying. He is the only character (excluding Dusshashan) whom I find completely black without even a tint of white shade in their characters

Completely agreed for this message. Duryodhan had earned this kind of death and as I said in the previous reply, his death actually is one of the few glories that he has to himself, but irrespective of what Vidurji might say, I don't buy that he was a born evil, multiple factors contributed to him becoming one

Puneet Issar has loathes to his credit not everyone can make even Duryodhan likeable at places.

I just mentioned about the scene in some other thread. After the failure of Lakshagriha conspiracy, when it is revealed that Pandavas and Kunti are alive, Duryodhan comes to Karna, who is angry that Pandavas would now blame them. He chides Duryodhan for going into conspiracies instead of war, to which Duryodhan replies that something like"when you say these things, they seem right, but then Mamashri says the opposite and it seems nothing else could be correct". I mean just imagine, the main villain giving such an innocent reply, he seemed so cute there.

And yes you are right Puneet sir is definitely empathetic towards Duryodhan. He was offered Bheem(the way he made Duryodhan seem cute at moments he would have nailed the cute Bheem to the core) but he specifically asked for Duryodhan, auditioned for it, and even suggested the actor for Bheem to ensure that gets Duryodhan.

And I am happy that he did Duryodhan.

I remember him telling that he read Bhasa's play Urubhangam to understand Duryodhan's point of view.
