I feel marathi stage has better stories than movies... it always has been that way... born n brought up in mumbai , hindi cinema, marathi natak and cricket match at wankhede were the staple diet of mumbaikars. Marathi plays have always been crowd pullers .

Last visit when I saw marathi natak a perfect murder 50 percent audience was non Marathi. So u see marathi rangbhumi has greater reach n is always dignified.

Imo too Umesh is a good actor and a perfect stylised one but the age shows up on him.... He has done quite a lot of serials majorly on ZM.... Who can forget Vadalvaat, Asambhav and Eldg/Eltg in which he starred... But he has been behind in the names of Ankush Or Swapnil.... Umesh now enjoys doing plays.... TV doesn't have anything for these lot now who obviously had made their mark from TV itself....

But even the new names like Suvrat or Amey don't come in their categories.... Read bankable... Ekhaadach Faster Fene yeto.... But the bankable category unfortunately still lands with the same names.... Same case is with heroines....

TV now only gets newcomers since they have to pay them less....

Ankush Chaudhary sir, Swapnil Joshi sir are doing a fine job in the opportunities they are getting👍🏼 . Just saw Samantar and Swapnil sir was awesome .⭐️.

Umesh Kamat is one of my most favourite actors(ELTG) , but I doubt if he would be able to pull off some of the roles, somebody like Swapnil sir has did in his career😉.

Just because they are on the wrong side of the 40 does not mean they have to retire 😛 , it is like saying once you reach 5000 posts on IF you should retire.

new show is starting on sony marathi from 18th may at 10.i think ,shooting is done in their resp houses.

Nobody is asking them to retire. But expect them to play more in line with their age. Say a family man with a small kid/s or similar roles and not a young romantic or a patented angry young man.

And more importantly, Swapnil's attempts at imitating Sharukh mannerisms gets on my nerves.😈

main problem is marathi pictures theatures madhech mulat kami baghitale jatat.

marathit production houses mainly 2 ahet ,zee studios and ata viacom18.tyanche pictures vajat gajat release hotat.

count d no fo films which were hits.mostly bolong to these houses.

and they prefer all senior actors whether they r above 40 or 35,they dont bother.

e.g dhurala.kevadh promotion .prtyakshat picture madge kahihi dam navhata.

same with choricha mamala.pan senior actors chi nav asalyane kahitari trai response milato.

marathi industry should have more production houses then this scenario may change.
