Lol, never will I call a molester of women "innocent" 🤪

Interesting to see selective bias in cherry picking certain episodes while completely ignoring others.

@Article author - Give me a complete character analysis and I'll be interested.

Gave away the crown to Arjun?? I seriously haven't heard about this.

Rest of the parts I do partially agree. Duryodhan did have his set of good qualities. He fought for what he believed to be true and died for it.

Irrespective of what the TV shows portray, he had his Mahabharata war journey almost untainted (with the exception of Abhimanyu Vadh and even that was technically not Adharma)

As per Oriya literature and Mahabharata retellings, he was a good husband. He definitely was a great friend. None of statements of Vyas prior to the Lakshagriha conspiracy suggest that he wasn't capable of becoming a good ruler

But that's it, he had that criminal mindset for sure, no one else can molest a woman and be proud of that act. He never repented on the conspiracies he did

Even as child he poisoned Bheem, this shows that he had such criminal mindset since his childhood.

He never respected his elders. As a neutral person, I don't expect him to respect Vidurji (who is one of my personal favourites), since you need to be a saint to respect someone who suggested your murder the moment you were born, but not respecting Bheeshm and Dronacharya has no excuse

I completely acknowledge his good qualities but he is not worth being called the hero of this Mahagatha. He certainly was a villain

First rule of writing: don't bore your reader.

Second rule: get your research right.

He/she broke both.

@FP. Suyodhana's problem was with Pandavas, nothing and no one else. If you read the childhood sections, BHEEMA actually started it.

Vaisampayana continued, 'Then the sons of king Pandu, having gone through all the purifying rites prescribed in the Vedas, began to grow up in princely style in the home of their father. Whenever they were engaged in play with the sons of Dhritarashtra, their superiority of strength became marked. In speed, in striking the objects aimed at, in consuming articles of food, and scattering dust, Bhimasena beat all the sons of Dhritarashtra. The son of the Wind-god pulled them by the hair and made them fight with one another, laughing all the while.

If that scene seems familiar, it's because Dusshasana recreates it with Panchali in dice hall.

Bheeshma constantly spoke against Suyodhana's interest. That the patriarch also spoke against Pandavas' interests is another matter. I don't blame him for not counting Bheeshma among his well wishers. He wasn't a needy fool like Yudhishtira. When did Suyodhana disrespect Drona?

The assault on Panchali was the brainchild of Karna, executed by Dusshasana. Suyodhana could've stopped it but didn't. But then, neither did Bheeshma or Dhritharashtra or Gandhari whose presence is mentioned only at the end of the scene. Suyodhana also shows Panchali his bare thigh. For this action and his silence, he needed to pay.

^^ I know that Bheem was bully, he deliberately targeted the Kaurav kids, but that's how the powerful children are . Even in schools there are bullies, colleges have ragging, that is wrong, but poisoning can certainly not be a punishment for this. Bullying is wrong but poisoning is criminal

Karna might have asked for the disrobe, but Duryodhan asked her to come into the hall in whatever condition was. Asked her to sit on his thighs, these equate for molesteration for sure. Aside Draupadi was his Dasi (or non Dasi that's a different topic), him stopping the Vastraharan attempt was much more possible than it was for the elders in the court

For Bheeshma not being his well wisher, well I kind of agree, but then that would have happened after Bheeshm would have noticed the ill activities of Duryodhan, he would not have started hating him from childhood.

Aside why were Drona and Krip inclined towards Pandavas? Ok Arjun was their best student, but other four?? I don't think Nakul was anyway better than Duryodhan so why was the former more liked?? Definitely because he was more respectful to his teachers than Duryodhan was. If there was some other reason kindly help me,...
