Ok my reasons for disliking Yudhisthir:
1. He enjoyed the success without doing the hard work. If he didn't have Bhima and Arjuna as his brothers, he could not have achieved even half of his feats.
2. He suggested marriage of Draupadi to all and he was the one to first wed her. Being elder to Arjuna, he did not think about the results of such an action on his younger brother who actually won the princess at her swayamvar. No one can be completely happy about such an arrangement of sharing wife. Even though Vyas does not mention it, I cannot imagine Arjuna being happy about this.
3. The big one. He was a king - the head of a state. He was responsible for an entire nation and its people. And he gambled away that kingdom. What kind of king does that?
4. He gambled human beings on a game of dice. His brothers who actually put in the hard work of building the Kingdom, the ones who subjugated kingdoms to make it possible for him to conduct a Rajasuya Yagna.
5. He gambled away his wife. On a game. Nothing whatsoever will justify this act of his to me. It's completely unpardonable.
6. He told Draupadi to "put up" with Keechak AFTER he saw Keechak kick her in front of everyone in the court. What would he have done in private if he got the opportunity? He was ready for Draupadi to undergo physical and sexual abuse if it meant their identities remained a secret.
7. After everything Panchali suffered, after all the humiliation, all the conspiracies by Duryodhana, he was ready to forgive the Kauravas.
8. This is probably not something people consider his fault, but I consider him guilty of negligence ( probably not the correct word) as he let Abhimanyu go inside the Chakravyuha despite knowing that he didn't know to get out. He risked Abhimanyu's life knowingly.
There done. 😆
