After all this discussion and the difference between my understanding of this epic when I created this thread vs today, made me realize something

I was considering Draupadi as someone who needed a man to save her, Men who as husbands enjoyed the right to stake her while giving out measurements of her body and the way she will be sexually pleasurable to his cousins (He could have told about Draupadi's financial skills, but of course he wasn't staking a woman with skill, he was prostituting her to his cousins), same men had the duty to protect her.

Draupadi couldn't fight people, neither could people who were slaves of Duryodhana, Arjun and other brothers went through same process of humiliation by their brother, Draupadi's humiliation was sexual in nature and the blame goes to Yudhishtira and none else. Arjun and other four brothers were as much of human as Draupadi, they couldn't do anything without their weapons, It was stupid of me to assume that Arjun and brothers were strong with or without weapons

I don't even blame Duryodhana and team for this thing, this is only on Yudhishtira

Yeah, Yudhishtira put her in that position. But Duryodhana, Karna, Dusshasana do deserve the blame for what they did. Abusing her was entirely their idea, so saying that they are blameless would be too much, in my opinion.

I don't blame them for Dyut Sabha, I do blame them for what they did to Draupadi and so did Krushna, each one of them died with a reminder of what they did to Draupadi

But Yudhishtira is a different type of 🤢, What was the need to describe his wife as a sexual object? Do you see Yudhishtira staked Draupadi to be sexually exploited by his cousins, who won't understand that this is not a game among family when your cousin is asking you to stake your brothers as his slave?

Oh he understood very well. He confessed to Bheema in Vana Parva that he played that game in hopes of snatching Hastinapura from Duryodhana.

Yes, she did say I have no husbands, sons, friends etc. But it would be wrong to say that she was completely detached from her husbands from that point. It's evident that she still cared about them. Even Yudhishtira. When she argues with Yudhishtira, she points out Bheema and Arjuna's suffering along with hers, when Bheema brings Saugandhika flowers for her she gives them to Yudhishtira, When Arjuna leaves for gaining Divyastras she says that she cannot enjoy anything without him, even while convincing Bheema to kill Kichaka she mentions Yudhishtira's, Arjuna's, and the twins' suffering along with her own. She was angry at them, but that doesn't mean she didn't care about them.

About Panchali wanting Yudhishtira to be locked up, can you post a citation? I'm not doubting your word, I just want to savor her saying those words in the epic.

They whose eldest brother becomes mad, have all to follow him in madness. Through thy madness, O king, all the Pandavas are about to become mad. If, O monarch, these thy brothers were in their senses, they would then have immured thee with all unbelievers (in a prison) and taken upon themselves the government of the earth.

KMG adds a lot of sweet talk to it. 😆CE is more blunt. Unfortunately, it's not available free for you to verify unless you own the ebook, but here are the words:

Volume 8, Chapter 1342 (14)

. Though she was always cherished by the king, she was always somewhat haughty, especially

towards Yudhishthira. Having been invited, the wide-hipped and extremely beautiful one glanced

towards her husband

95 and spoke these gentle word

...

. O Indra among kings! If the eldest brother is mad, all the others follow

him. Because you are mad, all the Pandavas will become mad. O lord of men! If these brothers of

yours were not mad, they should have bound you up with the non-believers and ruled the earth. A

person who acts stupidly does not obtain anything that is superior. A person who is on the path

towards madness should be treated with incense, collyrium, treatment through the nose,

102 medicines

and medical remedies. O supreme among the Bharata lineage! I am the worst of all women in the

world. Though I have been oppressed by the enemy, I still wish to remain alive.

I wish to God some show showed this part 😆. The TRPs would go through the roof.

Each time I read the words, I feel like saying "I love you, Panchali."

She sure cared about all of them because though she was angry, she did love each one of them. :)

Thank you!

I can picture Roopa Ganguly's Draupadi saying this 😂i'd like to say to her though that she's not the worst, it's her eldest husband.
