The flashbacks shown in today's episode were so profound and heartwarming. It made me teary. Arjuna wandered in the realm of past and beheld flashes of memories he shared with Bhishma and then his preceptor, Drona. Those memories filled him with doubts and transformed him into an unwilling participant. He knew this war isn't going to be like the previous ones but a final encounter where death and destruction is imminent. That definitely painted a terrifying picture.

💔

Krishna, loth is archer Arjun to pursue this hateful strife,
Trick against the sinless Bhishma, fraud upon his spotless life!

Listen, good and noble Krishna; as a child I climbed his knee,
As a boy I called him father, hung upon him lovingly,

This show did a great job with the Bhishma-Arjuna relationship. ❤️

They even included that bit of Arjuna calling him Tatshree.

Those scenes were really lovely!

I guess that was the difference b/w the Virat War and this. Arjun could defeat them at Matsya because he knew he wasn't aiming to kill.

Kurukshetra mein everyone knew the outcome and the fact ke 95% of all present warriors will be annihilated there. 😭

The scene was adorable! Couldn't help but think if this was the real scenario!

Also, it makes me feel so sad that Bheeshma could never be a father.

But why was killing necessary to end the war I don't understand.

Any war can result in deaths, yes agreed this was much bigger than the wars of past but how did they know it beforehand that not many will escape alive from this war

They all fought for honour. Even if one person lives from the losing side they would continue to fight.

Also the vows. Half of the crowd were already determined to kill.

Everybody in MB at that point knew ke this was a Dharma Yudhdha and so max damage would be done to Kauravas only. Krishna would make sure of that.

That's true. Viraat war had a different objective. Kurukshetra resulted in extreme tragedy and annihilated most warriors.

He couldn't be a father but he had so many kids to take care of. These responsibilities crept in the moment he took the oath.

It's kind of poetic justice. The Pandavas did not have their father and Bhishma became a father figure for them, especially Arjun and Bhishma I guess share a beautiful relationship.
