Sony TV abruptly ended 3 of its ongoing shows- Patiala Babes, Beyhadh 2 and Isharo Isharo Mein owing to the pandemic crisis in the country. We spoke to Ashnoor Kaur who played the lead role in Patiala Babes. The actress seemed to be quite heartbroken by the sudden end of the show.

It must have been a huge shock to know that your show Patiala Babes is going off-air?

When you are shooting for a show and living a character for almost one and half year, you do get really attached to it. Patiala Babes is a show which was like family for me. It was a heartbreaking moment for me to know that the show is going off-air. But we really can’t do much as this has happened due to COVID-19.

Do you feel that the channel made the right decision?

I guess the channel has taken the decision with the trust of everyone. I can't say much about it, but I am going to miss it a lot. I am emotional and it will take some time to get over it.

But the decision is going to impact several people financially, especially the crew…

Coronavirus has left its impact all over the world economy. Not just the crew or us, but even the channel has been facing a lot of financial problems. I just pray that things are normal soon enough and people find work again.

How badly do you feel the audience will miss this show post lockdown?

I would say that Patiala Babes and my character Mini may have ended now, but it is going to live on for forever. And I will always cherish the memories we shared on sets.

What was the last scene you shot before the lockdown was announced?

The last scene was wherein I stand up for Neel played by Saurabh who was paired opposite me in the show. I hold his hand and say that will see you in the court. I remember, on the last day, we shot continuously for 21 hours without any break because of course we were in the mood to wind up the episode so that we can have this hook-point where the audience will be excited to see what happens next after the lockdown.

What was planned for the audience in the story ahead?

After the lockdown, we had this entire journey of how we fight. And of course the love story was supposed to develop. Then, my entire journey which had begun from Season 1 of a girl who never believed in love and never forgave her father, eventually falling for Neel and also forgiving her father. Those emotional moments which were supposed to be beautifully portrayed on the show ahead. But I guess, corona has thrashed away a lot from us.

Humaari kaali zubaan hai yaar😆.....hum jisko bhi appreciate karte hain, woh agle hi moment uska total opposite karke humaari hi perception ability ki besti kar deta hai😆

We thought Ashnoor was the exception to the other child artists her age, but she's now fallen into the same trap. Oh well.....ab yeh bhi wohi standard template follow karegi of music video overload until she can also become famous with some "jodi" on ITV.

Ab dekhte hain how she manages to become the next bahu of ITV like that Reem Sheikh🤔.....NBT ke dono female child artists despo nikle....lol Addu beta turned out to be the real star doing good work for his age so far. I guess the male child actors still evolve better cuz there is no rush to objectify them at 15-16 like there is with young girls. It is immensely sad that society is so accepting of this.....PB2 forum mein jin logo ne woh Mini Neil story ko normalize kiya hua hai.....it's beyond disgusting the mentality people have.

Also the blindness is on next level when fans say we don't care about what the character or show has in it as far as my fav is standing in frame it's the best. Saw this other post in another forum where the discussion is how bad boys are the best because they are bad and are more fun to watch caz than they are hawt when aggressive and am like

The irony is than they have the nerve to call the makers regressive and how only regressive stuff is being made. Bhai dekhna chod do banana band ho jaayega. They don't take a second to demean someone's else choice to watch something which is considered regressive caz maybe they have an extended family or more family drama and less LLHH but khud will ship anything and everything caz some lame lollypop romance mil jaayega .

Unfortunately all this nonsense just skews the actual debates and discussions about valid criticisms regarding regressive content. Bas sloganeering ke chakkar mein people lose sight of context and nuance of all these various situations.

I get that everyone has subjective tastes....what irritates me personally is hadh level ka shallowness and upar se aggressiveness about how shallow you are. Ya toh aaraam se admit kar lo ki you are so despo that watching fictional characters romance validates your life😆....I would respect you more rather than all this naarebaazi about how great any random creepy thing is simply cuz your fav. actor is in it.

Dude, I just reached the epi when Baaji renames Kala as Kala BAI🤣🤣....Bahahahaha I love this version of Baaji....and woh bodyguards literally mansion chhod ke bhaag gaye yeh sunte hi ki Dutta is alive?🤣🤣

Oh lol I didn't realize this house that DN stayed in in the jungle is the same house that was later used for the Toofani NDE epi of Shivika🤣🤣

*Edit: Wait....maybe not😆.....the Toofani NDE house was bigger I guess😆....but exterior seemed kinda similar to me.....maybe they made that set bigger over the years by the time IB got around to shooting in that spot😆

Please tell me I'm not imagining the similarities in the houses...especially that central arch type area with the winding staircases on both sides😆

To me it seems like they expanded the exterior later by adding the wall and the gate and upgrading the outside to a brick layout.

Yeh bodyguard toh next level paltu thay ek sec nahi lagta tha inhein team change karne main😆 Kabhi bhai kabhi kala tai. On a serious not I liked how they showed that kala and suds pressurized the gang members by threatening them to show that how the loyalties changed they took a moment to show that detail too
