@Meera: A big, fat WORD to your entire rant. It is incredibly regressive to make the false distinction between adoptive and "real" parents, but it seems to reflect the show's general carelessness around the topic of adoption. All the adopted kids are supposed to react to the truth of their birth based on gratitude towards their adoptive (AND biological in Kunal's case) parents, and their convenience. It's never about the kid's feelings in reaction to their situation.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. Parul gave Kunal up -- she had her choice and she made it 25+ years ago, fully aware of the consequences. Kunal doesn't owe her anything and now when he knows the truth, it should be entirely up to him how much of a place he wants her to have in his life. I feel like for Abir, the whole thing is more about striking the iron while it's hot, and alienating Kunal from Meenu, than any real concern for Parul's status.

Re. aloo (this is an extremely useful shorthand, aqua!) I think it's a bit of both what we were discussing and the drama quotient Peace brought up. At the moment, I do think Kunal and Kuhu are pretty confident that the other loves them (humma humma was a nice affirmation) but as their insecurities grow, this will come into question. He said he loved me but he never prioritises me... she said she loves me but she always seems disappointed with everything I do. But then, this is how long-term relationships work, no? At that point, either or both of them will need confirmation, and like you said Aqua, I would love for the verbal confession to come in that context.

I am almost afraid to put this out there, but I would LOVE if Kunal said it after he found out about the sleeping pills -- nothing dramatic, just something like, I am angry but I am not going anywhere. I love you, Kuhu!

@Snow: Also worth noting is Kunal's expression when he hears their award shatter and realises Kuhu has seen the papers He looks shocked and guilty but then takes a second to put his patthar-dil face on before he confronts her. I really do think he was (misguidedly) trying to make it easier for her by pretending to be way more cruel and indifferent than he actually felt.

@aqua: Thanks for your feedback on the VMs, means a lot đŸ€— I am so excited to see what comes out in a few days after your intensive study. đŸ€“

Just stop fighting the crush and enjoy your good taste. đŸ€Ł He has proven himself amply worthy.

@Peace: samajhdar ko ishara kafi hai 😉

I think a 'small emotional in the moment' is the confession we will get, and frankly its totally in line with kuku characters❀ so I dont expect any grand gesture & I think most of us will be okay with that scene too😛

@bold: usually kunal has a habit for compensating for the problems he has caused(intentionally or unintentionally), so I think that he might take responsibility of Kuhu's this action as well & apologise & try to make amends, by some grand gestures for Abir, like he did for Parul & Mishti & these will further add to the drama quotient in the show by increasing kuhu's insecurities further (as per the ongoing track)

though I still have doubts on kunal forgiving kuhu(or rather still accepting kuhu), once the coffee pills truth comes out, given his #bhaiyopia for abir (him throwing kuhu out of the house & insulting her in front of all seems like the expected outcome, so anything less than that, I will be happy about itđŸ€Ș)

Hello AT ke pyaare logon!!💜

Before I start with the samoohik replies,I just want to take a moment to say that I miss when everyone was on the AT and we were all going crazy trying to reply to each and every post. I'm pretty sure you're all trying to cope with the current situation in your own ways and I hope you're all okay and happy. Please come back soon!!đŸ€—

Now, let's get to the replies:

Re. Parents conversation: As you already know by now, I agree with you guys on this topic. It's frustrating to see how the topic of adoptive and "real" parents is handled on the show. I really hope the writers read one of the few discussions we've had on this topic (thanks to Sam for explaining the nitty gritties in the Meenu thread. I literally have a screenshot of that reply because that was so eye-opening to me), and maybe focus on how the situation is handled. I do think there is a lot of scope to make the situation better in Kunal and Parul's case because abhi unki story aage badhi hai kahaan hai. Let's hope the writers knock some sense into the adoptive/biological parents storyline.

@Snow: That gifđŸ˜±đŸ„ș😱

I had never really focussed on Kunal's expressions before!

@Peace: Really?? He said that during the Navratri episodes? Was he even speaking to Meenu at the time??

Also, TFS all the VMs! They're so beautiful and 💔.

Re. đŸ„”: Sam, the emoji is a shorthand for the shorthandđŸ€ȘđŸ€. I see your fear about the pills situation. I think that is one plot point we're all waiting to see how it unravels. I do think that it could go in either direction: the one you want and the one PF thinks will happen. Pretty strong possibilities for both scenarios.

Personally, I would love it if Kunal professed his love after the fight or rather when they are fighting. I'll kind of set up the scene. Kunal finds out. He is in shock. He questions Kuhu. Maybe Abir tries to stop him saying she did it by mistake but Kunal says ki "galati se bhi hua tha to accept to kar sakti thi na wo apni galti" and Mishti joins in saying "Rehne do Kunal! Koi faayeda nahi hai. Kuhu apni galti kabhi accept nahi karegi" or something along those lines. (I am not good with creating dialogues.) Abir tries to intervene but Mishti becomes agitated like she has been getting in recent scenes so he takes her away to talk to her privately while Kuhu is standing there with silent tears as she sees her worst fear coming true: Kunal's accusing eyes.

Kunal expresses his disappointment in her (wow! He sounds like a parent or a strict teacher. Someone please make this better!!). He goes off on a rant. She says that it was a mistake. He asks her how can this mistake even happen when Meenu had told Parul to keep the pills. She doesn't reply as she recalls the moments leading up to the pill fiasco. He says "Ab chup kyun ho? bolo kuch!" and then she spills out her worries and her fears about Kunal but everything is again along the lines of her #MishtiMania. She tells him how angry she makes her and why the pills were in her hand in the first place. She tells him how guilty she felt and she was putting the pills back but fir Mishti ne aake use dhakka de diya. She tells him about the coffee swap and how she couldn't say anything and then when Abir found out, she was scared about Kunal would behave and react. Imagine Kuhu talking super fast and then breaking down as she expresses that she feared that this marriage would fail and he would leave her again and she becomes that scared girl from the hospital scene. In all of this, Kunal's face has changed multiple expressions but the underlying emotion of anger remained until he saw how scared Kuhu was at the thought of him leaving her even after all that she went through and all his anger goes out the window and he holds her by her shoulders, cups her face and tells Kuhu to look at him as he wipes her tears.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh!! I don't want to ruin this by writing shitty dialogues for Kunal and the conversation after. Can anyone write this please?? My imagination is basically him seeing Kuhu being scared and then him expressing that he was scared that she would leave him because of how she had left before. He thought that she didn't like him anymore but of all the reasons he could think of the marriage failing, the thought of leaving her never even came to him. That he couldn't think of his life without her and that he didn't even want to think of living a day without her. Kuhu is standing there in shock. Both of them are very emotional. And then he tells her that he lurves her and my brain is dead now. Please someone flesh this shitty description out please and also write what happens after this. Pleeeeease!!! 🙈🙈🙈

Scene opens on the Rajvansh family standing in the living room. Mishti and Kuhu have once again fought and are now going at it with each other.

Meenakshi: “Kuhu. Mishti. Enough is enough. The both of you are not little children anymore.”

Mishti: “Maa, you don’t know what Kuhu did. She-“

Kuhu: “Mishti, enough! Stop playing the victim every single time. It’s #oldnews!”

Mishti looks at Kuhu angrily. She was done with her. Today, she was going to tell everyone the truth, even if it meant causing conflict in the family.

Mishti: “Kuhu I’m so done with you.”

Mishti turns to face the family.

Mishti: “Kuhu was the one that spiked Abir’s drink the night before Mahashivratri. She wanted to do the puja with Kunal, so she put sleeping pills in his coffee so that he wouldn’t be able to get up in time for the puja the next morning.”

Everyone was stunned. They all looked accusingly at Kuhu. Kunal walks over to Kuhu and grabs her by the arms.

Kunal: “Tell me this isn’t true. Tell me that Mishti is lying.”

Kuhu (blabbering): “Kunal, it was an accident, I didn’t do it on purpose, I swear, I’d never try to hurt Abir bro. Please believe me. Mishti came and accidentally pushed me and the pills fell into the coffee, and everything happened so fast I-“

Kunal: “ENOUGH!”

Kuhu stopped talking, her lip quivering in fear. Tears streamed down her cheeks. He was very, very angry.

Abir: “Kunal, let’s talk calmly, shall we? There’s no need to-“

Kunal was livid. He took Kuhu by the arm and led her to the stairs.

Abir: “Kunal, stop!”

Kunal pulled Kuhu up the stairs, while she sobbed and begged him not to be angry. The family watched in shock. Abir turned to Mishti frustratedly.

Abir: “Happy now?”

But Mishti didn’t feel bad. In her eyes, Kuhu tried to hurt her and her husband on purpose, just so that she could perform a puja. Kuhu broke the necklace that Maa had kept safely for her daughter-in-law. And Kuhu stole her mandap. Kuhu deserved this. Right?

Kunal pulled Kuhu into their room and slammed the door shut.

Kunal: “Start talking. Now.”

Kuhu (through tears): “Kunal, I swear I would never hurt Abir bro on purpose. I was making cold coffee for everyone and Maa came with her sleeping pills. She set them on the counter and left, and I picked up the bottle. I was so angry at Mishti that I thought about spiking her drink, but then I immediately stopped because I couldn’t believe I was thinking that. But then Mishti came and pushed me and a few of the pills spilled over from the bottle. I didn’t even know if they fell on the floor or into the coffee. I didn’t even know if they spilled at all. But before I could say anything, Mishti took the tray.”

Kunal stared at Kuhu in disbelief, slightly calmer than before, but still very much angry. If she even had a doubt that they may have gone into the coffee, then why didn’t she say anything? He opened his mouth to verbalize this, but she kept talking.

Kuhu (blabbering, still crying): “You must be thinking, ‘Wow. So she knew. What kind of monster is she, that after knowing that the pills could’ve fallen into the coffee, she still didn’t say anything?’ Kunal, I swear I didn’t want anyone to get hurt but I was afraid that if I said something, then Mishti would think that I was trying to poison everyone on purpose. And then you would get very angry at me because you always believe her over me, and you’d kick me out of the house.”

Kunal shut his eyes and pressed his fingers to his temples frustratedly.

Kunal: “For God’s sake Kuhu, you can’t just lie because you’re scared! Bhai could have died! We promised we wouldn’t hide anything from each other!”

Kuhu: “Even if it meant you leaving me? Even if it meant you realizing that you never actually loved me, and you never would? Kunal, I live everyday in the fear that one day you’ll wake up and realize that you never wanted to marry me. I live everyday in the fear that you could throw me out of your life at any given point of time!”

Kunal fell silent. A realization dawned upon him. Although Kuhu had been the one to accidentally drop the pills in the coffee, he was responsible for her not fixing it right away. She was so scared of him, so fearful of the notion that he could leave her at any moment, that she made a horrible decision. A terrible, life-threatening decision. He had failed to make her feel secure in her place in his house. He had failed as a husband.

Kuhu fell to her knees and sobbed. This was it. This was when he would realize that she wasn’t good enough for him or his family.

Kunal slowly went on his knees and took her hands in his. She looked up, and her big, tear filled, red-rimmed eyes made his heart break.

Kunal: “I’m not leaving you. I hate what you did, and it’s going to take me some time to forgive you, but I’m not leaving you. If there’s anything I’ve learned from you, it’s that marriage isn’t a joke. I’m taking it seriously. But to do that, I need you to take it seriously too. You can’t be hiding things from me. That’s not how marriage works. That’s not how
. how love works.”

Kuhu was startled. Did he just say
 love?

Kuhu: “You’re not leaving me?”

Kunal: “Never.”

Meera! You are the sweetest!! Thank you for writing this!! Even though, this wasn't exactly my imagination, you kept the basic plot the same so thank you!!

Reading your fleshed out version is motivating me to write properly too! I haven't written in so looooong!!🙈🙈

But I get so excited to share my idea that the perfection of it kind of stops to matter sometimes. Oh god! I just had a therapy moment with myself. Gonna go think why I self sabotage myself if the perfection doesn't matter in case of writing and if the perfection matters so much, why don't I write properly? Wow! This is some kind of a vicious cycle.

Please do write!! As much as I like writing, there's always extra joy in reading other people's writing.

And I know it was kind of disappointing because Kunal didn't say đŸ„”outright, but for some reason, I just can't imagine him saying that at this point in the plot. Even if he did, it wouldn't sound real or genuine. I already think it's a bit of a stretch to expect him to comfort Kuhu if he found out about the pills. He's still extremely attached to Abir that he can't see anything beyond him.
