Magar the drama isn't showing Sanam to be some sort of aspirational character. Just because a character is the main character, doesn't mean that they're the hero. Surely, people watching the dramas can see that they're not glorifying Sanam's behaviour. She's messy and immature and she thinks she's a lot cleverer than she actually is. And most dramas have a negative female character torturing other people. I don't know where you draw the line, should we not have had Cheekh because of Bilal's character? No Balaa? No Khudparast? No Dil Mom Ka Diya? No Mere Paas Tum Ho? As much as I personally enjoy dramas where's low level conflict and people mostly getting along- those dramas don't do well and you need a negative character. I doubt Sanam or Nimra for that matter are going to get very happy endings, so I assume anyone watching the beginning of the drama sees the end too and has the ability to deduce the difference between right and wrong.
About the drama, I don't get Sabih and his family. Sabih seems to be a pretty sensible man about his own family but he's a complete fool about the Sanam thing, if he thinks that after being rejected for Erum he can marry Sanam. His brother is a bigger fool with pushing for the relationship with that greedy family that his mother doesn't like, I don't get how he's so mad and desperate about her already.
