As most of you already know that I hated the fact that the makers put in a cross-dressing bit in the show for laughs but I do want appreciate Ritvik's enthusiasm for wanting his eyeliner to look like Shraddha Kapoor's. It kind of gave me hope that there are guys out there who are able to express themselves and share this fact on a public platform without worrying that others might criticise them for wanting to put make-up and doing their eyeliner themselves.

Pihu, I love the instrumental music. It suited the scene perfectly. 💙💙

Sam, I'm trying to figure the perfect software too. I nearly considered buying Adobe but khud ko meine rokh hi liya 😆. I 💙 your VM's. They're perfect . I feel more comfortable using transitions thanks to you.

I'll be back once I've caught up with the rest.

All thanks to you, Gurumaa!!💙

My sister didn't like the music at all. She was like "This is so ominous for the scene". But you all liked it so now I'm conflicted.

You also started using Da Vinci Resolve, right??

I realised that they have full training lessons from where you can learn. That is so cool! They're literally giving everything for free!!

Just downloaded the 1st lesson and it's so daunting. It's almost 450 pages of PDF and there are 16parts in the introduction lesson!! Dude! If I get through this, I'mma come out a professional.

You're all welcome. All of you. Everyone. 😆 Jin jin posts pe mera naam liya gaya, unn sare posts ko meine like bhi kiya hai. ☺️😆

Yes. It truly is the best free software out there but it keeps crashing on my laptop. I think I'm going to try downloading it on my PC.

Oh man! I'm too impatient to go through training vids and manuals. I learn as I make.

@blue: You go girl! Then I'll come to you for help.

It is!! My laptop crashed yesterday too so I moved all the unimportant stuff I have collected over the years to an external hard drive. It took 3 hours but my laptop is happy for it. I think it will work better on a PC because PCs can handle the load.

I just started the tutorial and it took me back to school ke computer text books. It's that easy to understand. They also have these training videos. I think you only need the 1st one for understanding their basic layout and how the software works. That's how I made my test VM.

If I am able to finish this, then I'll surely help you out with whatever you want but as much as I know myself, it seems like a difficult task. Wow! Self sabotage kiya maine abhi khud ko! Nope, I'll go with the flow and try and finish this rather than doubt myself.

Thank you for attending this session of "mann ki baat". As you can see, I get distracted super easily, I'll try and get back to learning now.

@Peace: That ghazal is definitely Kunal’s anthem. All the lyrics capture his journey so well, and he is that perfect ghazal hero, loving quietly and from afar. It reminds me of these lines from the qawwali in the movie Nikaah:

Parvaane se pehele jali

Aur parvaane ke saath jali

Woh toh jala bas pal do pal

Shama toh saari raat jali

Ek parvaana jala kis kadar shor macha

Shama chup chaap jali lab pe shikwa naa gila

The last two lines also kind of sum up the two love stories on this show as I see them, and... I'll leave it at that 😉

Re. the aloo discussion, I actually think it makes sense for Kunal to proceed physically without making the declaration. For both him and Kuhu, the label of marriage is actually more important than the label of love. Kuhu proved this when she stayed in the marriage despite it being loveless and Kunal proved it when he gave in and acknowledged his feelings only after he saw Kuhu as a part of his family and as his partner in keeping it united. This whole aloo business is actually fairly recent; in my parents’ generation (as I am sure is the case with some of you) spouses did not express this verbally but it didn’t mean the feelings weren’t there. I see Kuhu and Kunal as a representation of that kind of relationship, where they mark love and commitment by participating in a partnership rather than with verbal declarations.

Of course that is not to say I never want them to say it but a verbal declaration would be a romantic cherry on the cake rather than a major moment of realisation.

@aqua: Thanks for appreciating the Devakshi video! I’m so happy you liked it, and yes! Start churning out those fabulous ideas I know are buzzing around your brain.

OMG!! I loved that little tidbit about Ritvik doing his own makeup. This is probably not doing you any favors in the quest to end your crush, though. 😈 😆

@Snow: So glad you came to collect all your well-deserved duas, and that you enjoyed the VMs. I am basically addicted to transitions and they come in handy especially for those slower songs. Makes everything all soft and pretty. Lol, I was breaking my head with Adobe until I came to the happy realization that I have a Mac and tried iMovie. It has been smooth sailing from there... so far. And it certaintly doesn't hurt that it's free 😃

Sorry for interrupting this discussion, but I have to bring something up after glancing at the YRHPK Wikipedia page (see character descriptions under cast) and rewatching a few episodes with certain dialogues that rubbed me the wrong way. I think Sam said it before, but I have to say it again. I hate how this show deals with the tussle between adoptive and biological parents. Constantly labeling biological parents as the "real parents", while undermining the parenting that adoptive parents have done will always rub me the wrong way. Every time biological parents are brought up, whether that be Kuhu's or Kunal's, they are always referred to as their "real" parents, and that terminology is so problematic on so many different levels. It makes me all the more frustrated at how Abir is choosing to handle the Kunal-Parul situation. No matter what Meenu has done, at the end of the day, she raised Kunal with a lot of love, and we never actually saw her differentiate between Abir and Kunal until the truth came out and things became messy with her relationship with Kunal. And as far as Kuhu's "real" mother goes, her real mother is Varsha. I don't know why the writers, the directors, or the actors for a matter of fact, don't have the problem with using the term "real" instead of "biological". It's so unbelievably... regressive, for a lack of a better word, and it's extremely disrespectful to all those parents that may not have given life to their children, but raised them and loved them selflessly. This is how the stigma around adoption is built upon, and it's incredibly problematic.

Okay, rant over.

@Bold: This makes so much sense!!! Oh wow! 🤯

I think we all would love that verbal declaration but the way I am seeing the situation now (thanks to you), it would be a subtle, probably emotional, maybe in the moment scene and can I just say that I would absolutely love that! I've always wanted that for these 2 rather than a scene where they have to profess their love to each other for things to move forward (I just realised that that's what happened for MA. The verbal declaration amped up their story. I love the writers for giving us 2 completely different love stories. It also makes me sad that the MF forces me to choose between the 2).

The Devakshi VM was damn beautiful!! You're getting better with each VM and I will start making the VMs once I understand the mechanics of the software. It'll probably take me 2-3 days and then I'll get to churning.

Uffff!! You noticed!🙈 The crush is definitely not going away anytime soon☺️

@Snow: even I realised Kunal's disappointment & sadness while re-watching the old episodes recently, had missed earlier, so thank you for making the gifs

infact I also noticed that before going for the navratri celebrations he asks for meenu's ashirwad & says something like 'sab kuchh daaw par lagane jaa raha hun maa'

just shows that it was indeed a big deal for him too to take that decision

@Sam: I have been noticing similar contrast in the 2 love stories, but couldnt put in exact words but you have put it smartly😉 with those 2 ghazal lines👍🏼

@aqua: thanks for sharing that eyeliner detail, I love kavik for such things, they both come across as very progressive, modern yet grounded people

@meera: totally girl👍🏼 I am super annoyed with this 'real parents' drama, why cant they use the word 'biological', ohh I see, usse drama quotient kam ho jayega na😲

on aaloo scene: I just hope that what all Sam & Pihu said are the only reasons of missing out on the love confession but somehow I think that their love not being confessed might be used by writers as to show a contrast between 2 love stories and might add to the insecurities of both kunal & kuhu in future💔

I mean they have been intentionally keeping the loose ends throughout kuku story, so I hope that its not the case this time
