Wether, it is emoting or dancing or dialogue delivery or comedy or any other department, Madhuri Dixit was fantastic, incomparable.

Sridevi might have been a superstar in South(who knows) but in Bollywood it was Madhuri Dixit from 1988.

Sridevi's competitor was Jayaprada.

Box-officewise Sridevi is nowhere near Madhuri Dixit.

Acting wise Madhuri Dixit has far better range than Sridevi ever had and her acting portfolio is much better than most of other actors.

Boney Kapoor chose Madhuri Dixit for Pukar and not his wife, Sridevi, and as usual Dixit was amazing in Pukar, including songs. An actor who can show that range of emotions in a song is a great actor, not many can do that. AK was as usual great in Pukar, especially the court-martial scene. Danny Denzongpa too.

English Vinglish was inherently a good film.

I doubt if Kangana Ranaut made that tweet, most probably it is her sister.

Sridevi was far far better actress than Madhuri.

Sridevi over Madhuri in romance ( Chandini vs Dil To Paagal Hai ),serious or vamp roles.

She was undisputed queen in comedy.

Excelling in Comedy/Action/Romance/Drama all requires different strengths

Sridevi and Madhuri are probably the two biggest superstars in the history of Indian cinema. Growing up I loved them both. By the time the 2000s came, Sridevi had retired and Madhuri gave back-to-back smashing performances with Pukar, Lajja, Devdas. So it was hard not to be completely bowled over by her. She left on a bigger high.

Fast-forward to 2007, Madhuri's comeback was a big deal, but sadly the film didn't live up to the hype. We wanted MORE from the role of Dia. Although Madz looked 100% gorgeous and delivered a great performance with what she was given.

2012: Sridevi gave the performance of a LIFETIME. Gauri Shinde is so talented. Not only was it a great role and characterisation, but she presented Sridevi with the magic that was needed to elevate Sridevi's already stellar stardom.

Unfortunately Madhuri's following films were also disappointing. While Sridevi's Mom was another feather in her cap.

Somehow Sridevi managed to make up for "lost time" while Madhuri's status has wavered.

However, I think overall, Madhuri will always be known as the ultimate number one. She had EVERYTHING on lock in her career. I've only ever heard people saying "she's just more of a dancer" on internet forums. And we all know Sridevi's hardcore/inner fanbase is the worst of all (super petty and Vicious).

She is correct....when it comes to acting....Sridevi was far more superior than Madhuri....looks, stardom and dancing skills can be debated as to who is better between the two...but not acting..

Having said that, what she/they said is absolutely correct. Sridevi was a superlative actress. Madhuri had her glamour and her dancing. She was also a very hard worker. Her acting was below par, though.

The proof comes when glamour fades. Men stopped being interested in seeing Madhuri do a dhak dhak. Sri gave an English Vinglish and a Mom after because she could act. Those directors approached because she could act. Madhuri flopped because her USP was gone.

You telling me Sridevi was not glamourous in English Vinglish/Mom/Puli? She looked drop dead gorgeous, and the styling and make-up was LIT AF. I have to laugh.

Truth is, if Madhuri had done English Vinglish, she would have aced it too. She tried with Bucket List but that film was just awful.

Even Rekha tried with Super Nani, but it was a tone deaf attempt.
