What I was trying to say is kunal's birth secret, the way it came out , the fact that mishti already knew about it , the after reactions by kunal, , the act of committing suicide , everything played a role of a catalyst in that market arguement , if the secret wasn't out , if kunal didn't try to commit suicide , abir must have had a controlled set of reactions on the matter and also on how mishti now considers nannu as his priority, that's why I consider kunal thing as the main matter here
The point I explained later was how abir just a day before was planning to reveal the truth himself and settle things for kunal and mishbir , but such a turn of event also triggered his anger because that just ruined the whole thing for him, if abir was the one to reveal the secret to kunal, he felt that he would have handled him in a better manner , probably he would have avoided an extreme set of reaction that he got from kunal. Similar point diya also made in her last para which I agree with.
Then comes a third part, mishti and nannu's close proximity , if you look at the flashback shown at the start of the arguement , the two things that abir remembered from the mishti nannu comvo was - "mere aur abir ke break up pe use zyada khush aur koi nahi Hua hoga , uske saath jo Hua vo sahi tha, vo deserve karta hai" ..... it was a question form mishti's side but abir assumed it to be a statement , he was concentrating more on the context of the conversation, it was like mishti is justifying what she did and she didn't feel guilty , that's why he said this is not the mishti I know...so if you see in totality, he was on his emotional high because of the way the events turned out , he definitely misunderstood her , believe it or not but these words only were in his head when the arguement started , he didn't approach her as her ex who was just sulking over her closeness with nannu, he approached her as kunal's brother there , he did believe what he said to her there , on how she could just reveal the secret, he was only concentrating on the aftermath of the situation , he completely lost it when he saw that mishti was trying to give a reason for her action , in his opinion there can't be any reason for such a blunder to happen that too form mishti's side " agar kunal ko kuchh ho jaata toh mein kya karta " .... that was the main point here for him.
until nannu came in the picture, and then again the sulking mode started
but it came at a very later point of the arguement ,if nannu wasn't there in the picture, his reaction would have been milder, probably yes especially after the push, but that doesn't mean that the reaction would have not been there at all
if only sulking was supposed to lead to lashing, he would have done that very well in the offsite meeting itself , and regarding the jealousy part , he himself admitted to parul that it came more because he saw how happy mishti gets when nannu is around , something he felt he couldn't achieve.
nannu's presence in the whole scenario just diverted his mind from the ongoing arguement, the main reason was still kunal, that's what I think
From a love story perspective, it might be interesting to assume that the priority thing and the subsequent sulking was the main reason of his outburst and angst , and I can understand that , but I believe saying that would be an underestimation of abir's emotions at that point of time , not only towards kunal but towards his whole understanding of the situation , it wasn't really like he was wating for a moment to lash out at her , and yeah I never considered him a self less soul , infact he is deeply flawed , the reason I said he sacrificed because in the moment of weakness , he gave in to meenu's manipulation and took a worst decision...for himself and for misht that just turned the tables for them forever.
ohhkkk this is interesting actually i agree with both of you in this but this bold statement summed it up like mini said its jealous mainly as the conversation progressed if nannu presence was not there his emotions would've been a little better like you said reaction would've been there but a more subtle one... his presence was what trigger n changed the direction of the whole sequence...
It was not easy for abir to decide to say the truth to kunal nah he knew how sensitive kunal is n how he reacted even for joking about him taken from dustbin so for abir to gather the strength to do this was a big thing... he is flawed n selfish too but not completely the reason he decided to do this was for 2 reason one for himself n mishti and also he felt even after all this meenu can use kunal again he wanted to say the truth n save him he felt this mainly after he saw how nervous kunal was when they met outside maheshwari house thats what mainly triggered him to say the truth... but then seeing everything crumbling his sacrifice, kunals reaction which he wanted to not happen, mishti knowing truth still him loosing the second chance he thought was possible all this triggered him thats why first he said about kunal and also he said you are not the mishti i knew he did misunderstand mishti even if reaction was triggered by nannu presence he did misunderstand n said all those to mishti..
If you notice there are always two sides to abirs reaction in every incident he tried to balance between being a brother n lover its always easy to see one side like in mishkun GD he came back for both as a lover and also to save his brother, the after mishkun breakup confrontation he supported mishti n also he was worried about kunal becoming more like who he wasnt, his mumbai confrontation he fought for mishti's izzat n also a big brother who cant see his brother being so rash treating a girl like that as he was harsh on kuhu too, breakup there too he was worried about both its easy to say he chose kunal but he did think of mishti too thats why he said he wishes for someone for her who doesnt have fate like him, this too, even the nannu spiking truth confrontation and also the recent one he wanted to save sisters also his brother... Abir's most of the decision n actions are related to mishti n kunal both he never thinks of only one there is always two side to his actions but we mostly see only one side everytime...
