I can't find the source but It was a couple years back when he was quite blunt in expressing the credibility of awards. He had said something along the lines where certain people win and he is like "really?"

He is winning awards today front right and center. Do you think its hypocritical? people who call out awards and then accept them as if they are the greatest acheivement?

Apne pe baat ayegi toh he'll say they are credible. People always find a way to defend themselves.

he was talking about lootera as a film, it didn't get enough nominations but it was one of the highest rated films of that year, ranveer didn't think it got the recognition it deserved, he wasn't talking about himself

many actors have spoken about how deserving films have missed out on nominations and awards, it even happens with hollywood awards

this is what ranveer said, he even rated lootera higher than ramleela for which he got nominated, he was dissapointed for the technical team of lootera

The star was referring to the fact that while Ram Leela has fared well this awards season, his other offering Lootera was snubbed by committees. Like his co-star Sonakshi Sinha, he too is disappointed that the period love saga, based on O. Henry’s 1907 short story The Last Leaf, was not nominated despite receiving critical acclaim.

“It is very disappointing that the technical team of Lootera didn’t get their due credit. Lootera is technically one of the superior films of Hindi cinema,” he said.

“I would rate Lootera higher than Ram Leela, as Ram Leela was easier for me to do, while Lootera was tougher. I am proud of Lootera. It’s a timeless film. It’s sad that Lootera went unnoticed by many.”

It doesn't work both ways either award functions are legit or they aren't. Stick to one thing or it's the case of sour grapes

I cant remember. Ill have to search for it on youtube. But it was an interview where he talked about awards..he said something along the lines of certain people winning awards, and his reaction being "really?" indicative of sarcasm obviously, indirectly stating that awards are not credible.
