Actually makers did give hints of Neil being male babita when mini first sees him in kitchen she is reminded of babita, him not telling her about girl in life it was just that we did not want to believe it back then.

Mini's monologue was very good.she remembered all the MiNeil moments right from first dance ,holi , sofa scene , ring and when she said ..was I throwing himself on him was really felt bad for her .
