Raman reached his house and threw himself lazily on the couch and spoke " Ma main aa gaya"( mother I m back ) . Soon toshiji showed up with a glass of water and a lovely smile . She passed the water to him and asked caressing his hairs "aa gaya puttar ,how was your interview.actually I know ,it must be good . "
She spoke and looked at him for his answer but to her surprise he didn't saud anything ,she narrowed her eyebrows and spoke " Raman main kuch pooch rahin hoon puttar ,achcha hua na tera interview. "
( Raman i m asking something, your interview was good na )
R- haan ma it was good .
T- then why are you looking so down .( she then touched his forehead in concern and asked) teri tabiyat to theek hai na puttar , bahut thak gaya hai kya ( you are ok na or you are too tired ).
R- nothing like that ma ,i m ok .
T- to phir itna udaas kyun hai ( then why are you so sad).
R- interview was good but seems i will not get the job .
T- koi baat nahi , ye job nahi mili kya hua doosri mil jaayegi .( so what ,if not this ,you will get another job) we are not dependent on this . Sweety was calling me to her home but I denied as you were not there but as now you are back ,i think i should go,will you come with me.
R- no ma ,i m tired , I will rest, you go and enjoy .
T- okay puttar ,take care . And call me ,if you have any problem .
Raman hugged his mother and said "arey ma ,i m grown up now , i can take care of myself. "
Toshiji kissed his temple and spoke " mere liye to tu hamesha mera bachcha rahega , aur main teri care karoongi .( for me you will always be my baby ,i will always care for you).
R- okay my cute ma ,now you can go .
T- chal bye .
Saying so she went to her room to get ready and then left . Raman didn't do much thing ,he just ate his lunch and went to sleep . Next day he got up ,completed his morning chores and went to have his breakfast . He saw toshiji was all ready for her office and was just waiting for him . She served him and said " puttar you have your breakfast ,i m leaving".
R- arey ma ,itni jaldi kyun ,aao baitho na .( arey mom ,why so hurry ,come sit na )
T- Raman see the time ,i m already late ,so i must leave .
Raman made a sad face and looked at his mother ,she caressed his face lovingly and spoke " kya hua puttar ,tu kal se bahut dukhi lag raha hai.(What happened puttar , why are you so sad from yesterday ). So what, if you didn't get that job ,moreover that was a PA job ,you had completed your MBA and you desrve much better than that .
R- i know ma ,but I wanted to do that job , Ishita iyer is a very successful lady and young entrepreneur of the year . I m just a new comer ,I have to learn a lot and this job should had given me a fair chance to do that .
T- so what ,you can get another PA job ,not only her but many successful people are there ,you can join other companies too.
R- wo to hai ma lekin...
T- koi lekin wekin nahi ,stop being sad and smile like my handsome puttar ,dekh kaise muh latka se baitha hai .( see how you are sitting with a dull face ).
Raman smiled a bit for his mother ,thats when his phone rang . He picked the call and soon his smile widened, he hung the call,picked his mother and spoke twirling her " I got it ,i got it ma ."
Toshiji smiled at his reaction and asked " you got the job ?"
R- yeah ,ma . I got the job and I have to join from tomorrow.
T- thats very nice ,tu bekar hi pareshaan ho raha tha ,lekin mujhe pata tha.( see ,i told you na , you were sad unnecessarily. )
Raman hugged his mother happily ,while she said " puttar you only got today ,so go and do some shopping ."
R- shopping for what ?
T- arey nayi job hai to kapde bhi to naye hone chahiye ( arey its new job ,so cloths sgould also be new na). Moreover till now you have casual cloths, go buy some official cloths from nice brands , some nice shirt ,pants with tie and haan buy some suit sets too .
R- no ma ,that will be too much .
T- no puttar ,here take my card and buy whatever you want .
R- no ma ,i can't, already you had done much for me ..
T- chup ,ek shabd aur nahi,you are my only son ,if not for you then for whom i m earning . Just go and shop .
Raman just smiled with teary eyes and hugged his mother ,she too hugged him back and kissed his cheek ,then she left . Raman had his breakfast and then went for shopping ,as per his mother's order he did the shopping though not that much which she has told but everything which she suggested .
Next day he got ready on time,took his mother's blessing and both mother ,son left the house for their respective jobs happily . Raman reached at his office on 9.03 am . He reached to the receptionist and introduce himself ,she told that ishita has already reached and was asking for him .He asked the way to her office , she informed that ishita's office is on the top floor . He immediately rushed towards the lift and pressed the top floor button . Soon he the lift dinged , indicating that he was on the floor required, so came out from it and found himself in a large silent corridor. Only the sound of his shoes was echoing , soon he reached the end of floor and saw the door where president was written .
He immediately knocked the door and listened he voice " come in ". He entered and greeted her while in returned he listened " you are eight minutes late ,is it nive to reach late on first day of your job , when you are suppose to reach earlier than me ."
Raman listened to her and said " i m so sorry for that ma'am , I was not aware of the punctuality of here moreover it waa my first day ,so I was lil unprepared. From tomorrow I will make sure that you find me well settled in my cabin when you reach here ."
" don't you think you are too confident " saying so ishita raised her eyes to him for the first time and unknowingly it stopped on him for sometimes as if she got lost in his looks. But soon she realised it and again got busy in her file while Raman said " I am sure about that ma'am".
I- whatever ,your office is next to mine ,you can go to Mr sharma in HR dept ,he will brief your job to you .
Raman smiled fully and left saying thankyou ma'am. Soon he learned all his job from HR dept and returned to his place, he settled and started his work,After about
half an hour he called ishita and reminded her for her next meeting . She thanked him and said that he will be accompanying her . Soon they left for the meeting ,it was in a hotel with some investor. Ishita entered the hotel confidently and instructed Raman to ask about the booking . He does as per the instruction and was informed that the person was waiting for them in the conference hallThey attended the meeting, ishita was busy in meeting while Raman was observing her thoroughly, he was just mesmerized with her aura and got too impressed with her skill. The meeting went well ,the investers were too impressed with the proposal . Ishra left the place , ishita was walling ahead while Raman was following her . She was so fast but Raman hurried and matched her pace ,she turned to him and asked " Mr bhalla ,do you want to way something ?".
R- yeah ,two things ?.
I- say .
R- atfirst ,i m younger than you so don't call me Mr bhalla ,you can call me Raman .
I- Ramann
She called his name and waited for sometimes then asked"had we met earlier, your name sounds familiar ".
R- l m so glad that you still remember my name .
I- you mean to say that ,you we had actually met before .
R- do you remember saving anybody in your school days .
Ishita thought for long time then spoke " l m trying but can't recall ."
R-you were in std 11th .
Ishira thought for sometimes and then spoke " yeah ,some of my classmates were bullying a little boy of small class for fighting with brother of one of them ."
R- yeah ,but I was not that little ,i was in 7th std.
I- you mean to say you are that boy .
R- humm ,Raman bhalla .
I- you have changed a lot ,that time you were plum and chubby .
R- (shyly)- yup i was fat then .
I- but were cute .
Raman ruffled his hair blushing hard and spoke " now I m handsome,isn't it?".
Ishita cleared her throat and spoke " whatever ,keep one thing in mind ,I don't get impressed with looks and appreciation but with actions,remember you were late today ."
Saying so she walked away while Raman followed her and spoke to himself " l promise, one day you will be totally impressed with me ."
Ishita turned and asked " bhalla are you coming with me ".
R- I told you to call me Raman
I- that's my lookout ,you don't have to suggest me . Are you coming with me or going by yourself .
R- so rude ,totally different from ishita iyer I know .
I- (glaring him)-you again mumbled something .
R- no ma'am ,I m coming .
Soon they settled in the car and drove towards their office .
