I can not concentrate in a crowded place. I was living in a mess. The door of my room would be always open as it is the passage to the balcony. We were are six people in the mess and one toilet cum bathroom.

I have totally come out of clinical depression just 9 months ago. The fatigue is still there. I take too much time to understand a new situation.

Till now I had worked in an INI. So I got extremely scared seeing jealousy between faculties (not of our dept though).

I was once a student of our HOD. His over expectation did not help either.

Again there is no clear cut work deadline here. The official deadlines and real deadlines are sometimes two months apart.

Students can complain about teachers any day.

Faculties are shackled by useless rules.

Coupled with that I had to run away from the mess sometimes since nobody would be there.

I also had some pending works from the previous institute.

I was also sad because I can not take care of my mother.

I am the only lady full time faculty in the department. So I could not discuss this issues with someone who would understand and give me guidance.

So I have become a vamp.

Just today morning I was praying "Please keep my honour".

Now I have understood what it means to fight with your own.

Now I have got some time to prepare notes and give to the students. Students will no longer get a chance to complain against me.

I am actually sounding cynical but can not help it.

Hey Vyapti 🙋‍♀️ it's been a long time since I came here... Its good to hear that u r in a teaching profession 😍..cos I worked as an AP 2 yrs ago nd now again am asked for covering a unit to 3rd Yr Engg students as my research is some what related to that particular unit...

Em, right now, I know some random words (from mythos and Bharatanatyam songs) like azhagi penne, nalla, theriyum illai, kanmani, anbe, vaanga, poga, adi, mudi etc. And also I can count 1 to 10. 🤣

What would you suggest from here? 😳

I remembered a hilarious experience of my ex-colleague.

She and her husband used to work at VIT. Now she is dark. But her husband is fair. Both are from Orissa. She is from BBSR.

Now everybody could understand seeing her husband that he is not Tamil. But strangers would start talking with her in Tamil. Then she would have to say "Tamil teri ada".(Tamil nehi ata)

Do you study at IIT BBSR?

I have this problem with Odia so much! Especially outside of campus. I've had ladies talk to me for hours and I just kept nodding and smiling. Turns out she actually knew Hindi AND Bengali and was just messing with me. 🤣

Wow.. U hav known some basic words 👏

If u intend to learn Tamil, begin wid learning colloquial terms than pure words as it'll be confusing... Then go for basic grammatical rules followed by vocabularies. 😳 I'm always here for u to help wid translations🤗

There were good shows when was a kid....now a days all D shows are too dramatic/loud nd regressive.... If u wanna watch it only for learning purpose then I'll suggest u to Watch hindi shows dubbed in tamil... Use Hotstar "Star vijay" tamil channel wid subtitles.... Also some good tamil movies that streams on HS @ times...

Even "RadhaKrishn" has been dubbed in tamil...also "yeh jaadu hai jinn ka" from SP is dubbed nd telecasting in tamil, It'll b available in HS under "star vijay tamil" channel list.. Try it..

Thanks! I'll check them out, but are you sure about the quality of translation? I once tried watching the Bengali dubbed version of Star Plus' ka MB, and it had no grammar whatsoever: all the hindi words translated in THAT order! 🤣
