Is Sonam discredited for Neerja

Neerja earned about 70 cr. and won her a special mention

Is she discredited as a performer at times?

Whats makes this less of a success than alia's raazi, taapsee's badla, rani's mardaani?

None of the so called superstar actresses have delivered such a great performance as she did in Neerja. Truly her best work. Her performance was nuanced and measured. Extremely believable.

To top it off, it was a super hit.

She wasn't discredited, she won National Awards for her performance in the movie.

She doesn't get enough credit for Neerja.

it all boils down to consistency..has she been consistent in performances of that mark? NO! before neerja and after neerja..her performances just could not win hearts..

so overall..she could not make herself known as a solid actor..as for neerja..she won filmfare and a NA special mention..no way was she ignored for that..she got her due

If I'm not wrong, Sonam didn't win Filmfare of Neerja, she won National Award only. It was Alia who won Filmfare for Udta Punjab on that particular year...

That was the only movie she performed well, that's why people don't take her seriously. Take away Neerja from her career graph, and you will see how bad her acting was in all other films(except probably Raanjhana). She's the embodiment of cringe on screen.
