yeah thats what i was thinking gill is more known and more common outside of punjab.

And so many gills are established like jassi gill, amrinder gill. within punjab they are both common surnames thou.

I think Shehnaaz uses Gill because it’s more famous surname . May be she thought it’s cool to have Gill than Badesha for acting career

P.S another day I listened Sana talking in Punjabi and realized that her Punjabi is Majha wali Punjabi ( Amritsar side ). This can be the reason that Sana didn’t get many Punjabi movies because her Punjabi accent is theth ( pure ) , typical Majha accent while in Punjabi movies only Malwa ( Ludhiana , Patiala etc side ) Punjabi accent works . She stays in Mohali since few years , so it was not hard for her to practice Malwai Punjabi . She should have put some effort in this too .
