Well I am an academic so invariably I philosophise things. Also I have the tendency to relate things from a micro perspective to macro perspective. BB has always been a wonderful character study from a psychosocial perspective hence I indulge in this guilty pleasure.
When I started watching BB, my initial reaction to Sana was pretty neutral. I was attracted more to Koena as she projected the feisty empowered image that I appreciate. But soon enough, I realised that this image was coming from a place of smug righteousness. I despise it as it shows arrogance. Sana grew on me later. Especially after the Snakes & Ladder Task, as it showed a certain strength of character.
I work at a university which attracts top students from across the country. Our students come from all social classes and geographical regions. For the last many years, the most driven demographic in my classroom are the girls coming from small towns and rural ares. They are such an odd mix of fierce ambition and crippling insecurity. I absolutely love them. As a teacher, I want them to take things head on. I stop myself from being too maternal because I want them to make their own mistakes and learn from them. However, some are in too much of a hurry. They make immature decisions. And you hope and pray for them but you cannot do anything at their failure. But the most wonderful of successes also come to this demographic. Their trajectory in life are praise worthy.
Sana is in the same mould. I fear for her but I'm rooting for her too. And I also completely relate to the protectiveness Sid feels for her. Also, I know for a fact that if I ever meet Sana, she will call me a "gayani" and will not like me.
@borntoread, thanks for sharing the details about your life and specially the drive these young girls have. It humbles me to realise, looking at Sana and reading about your girls, how smug and condescending we can be towards people who are less "polished", basically whom we deem less. Well, we live, we learn.
I'm a fellow BB and book addict, and love analysing the BB case studies, no academic though. And just for the record, didn't like Koena the first time, too holier than thou!
Uma se bhi pooch lenge 🤣
