She's made it on her own steam. People like her in general.

She's been part of some successful films as well. Whether she lent some weight to those films or not is another debate altogether.

She will stick around. She's happy to play second fiddle roles and probably doesn't get paid a lot. Tharkis also like her for the way she looks.

Nowadays most of the bigger actresses want films that revolve around them. Kareena and Katrina are also doing well because they're happy playing the regular heroine roles where the male stars get the central role.
