I would have wholeheartedly accepted it if Maya were a full blown psycho like Joe from You. ( I low key expected the flashback to reveal that Maya is the real psycho who was the master manipulator and MJ is just a creep who got played but Maya being the psycho, actually believes she is a noble person and became the victim. I know that would compromise Mayra but I am a sucker for pitch dark themes and they claimed to be that. Also psychopaths have hotter love stories.)

But here Rishi's death seemed so random. I still don't understand where or how it fits. It's like a square piece meant to fit inside a circular hole. It's only there to create a separation between Mayra later and doesn't make any sense.

Its a win win situation.

Because if it is proven later that she is not pregnant..she will be thrown out anyways...because people will think she was trying to trap MJ
