Did you have any apprehension while taking up Beyhadh?
When Beyhadh was offered to me, I was pretty sure about it. I knew it’s a dark show, but the character of Rudra brings a lot of positivity. There is a stage where you look for work and do whatever comes your way but there comes a phase where you think about your audience more than yourself.
How would you define Rudra?
For me it was like something, which I haven’t tried before. Even as an actor if you see, I have never done a typical saas-bahu drama. Very early in my career I did something like Veera. Playing a lover is easier than playing a brother so early in your career. I am giving my 100 per cent to Beyhadh.
What has been the audience’s reaction?
The audience can make or break your career. Today, they are the king! I want to know what the audience wants to say about my show and my acting. Their response is crucial. Mostly, I have got comments on my looks but for Beyhadh, 90 per cent comments are on my acting. The audience is really paying attention to how I am acting.
How do you react to fans taking interest in your personal life?
I have a personal life but I generally keep it private. I don’t put up stories and everything on social media. I like to keep it simple. I like to travel and meet people. I don’t just attend parties!
Any genre you want to be part of?
I have not tried supernatural or mythological shows. Before this, I was supposed to do a superhero show but that didn’t materiase. But I always wanted to do it. It’s like a childhood fantasy. It’s also destiny. I believe your character chooses you and not otherwise.
