Maybe they both die, unite in death and MJ lives and goes crazy. Twisted karma.

exactly!! Wo ek fully grown man tha..use apne fetus ke liye mar diya...marna hai to mj ko marti..but madam ki to hawa tight ho jati hai uske samne..islie ..safe bait kr ke..unhe target kro..jo maya se kamzor hai...like seriously!! Rishi ki death was not req...maya killed him for her own sadism..and for god sake!! Please rishi ka naam le lekr..apni nautanki band kr de wo bas!!
We knew he'd die, but would it have been a stronger plan of MJ would have killed him, MJ would died on the spot.
And sabse faltu logic hai baap ke karam ki saza bete bhugata hai, inherit karta hai kya? Uss hisaab se, Rudra is MJ's son first and her husband later, usko bhi maaro (which she will do, her lies and toxicity will get to him)

If MJ doesn't die, Rishi's death is useless
What if MJ misess Rish after getting to know D's preggers and this is the second time she is carry his child and the first one is now dead?
Heyaaa!

If MJ doesn't die, Rishi's death is useless
Whatever MJ did in his life, he did that to protect his reputation, to prevent his sons from going away from him, to bring Rudra closer like before. All his wrongs and obsessions are involve this aspect of him, along with his God complex of controlling people like toys. Like he decides who lives, who dies, who stays in life, who gets destroyed, everything.
So if he dies, he dies along with his complex of his intact and unharmed. However, if he lives, and loses both his sons to death, it will give him trauma everyday and remind him he is not some God, he could do nothing to save his sons and all the wrongs he did to control what he eventually couldn't, has gone down the drain. He would then feel the same madness that Maya JS felt for so many years. Like Gayle Forman said, "Dying is easy. Living is hard."
There is hardly any scope of happy ending in this story for MayRa, though sometimes I tend to do wishful thinking, let's see how CVs take it ahead.
