On one side i feel seeing the way anu was avoiding pre completely when he was going to get engaged to komo... Maybe anu would have avoided pre in the beginning because that is exactly he wanted pre to do and focussed only on his revenge which he planned to take on komo for ruining their lives...
But on another side ... This season anu has a trait and i.e he cannot see pre ignoring him / hating him.... So if pre had not come back like you said he would go to any length to ensure pre is safe... He may not want pre to know but he would definitely do everything in his hands to keep her secured..
Both pre and anu are different in the sense ...
Pre can take all the hatred anu has for her but his constant love will melt her..
anu cannot take her hatred even for a small time.. so he will immediately melt once he gets the feeling pre is going away from him or hates him to the core...
