Chapter 13:-

"Life has been really unfair to these two people, who were the true epitome of love.

You're aboard a ship setting sail, and the other person has joined the inland circus, or is boarding a different ship, and you just can't be with each other anymore. Because you shouldn't be.”

Manya finished writing her diary for the day and sighed.

She closed her eyes. A lone drop of tear fell from her eye.

Anurag barged into the room.

' Whoa! You scared the hell out of me, Anu Bhai! Kya hai yeh? '

' Shhh. We are playing hide and seek. And it's my turn to hide.'

Manya smiled and went downstairs.

She went to her Dad's room and sat on beside his bed, in a chair.

' Kal Bhaiya Ka janamdin hai, Yaad hai Papa? Kaash Woh aajaye kal.' she sighed.

She has been saying this since past 6 years... Same longing every day, every year.

' Why Bhai, why? Why did you leave us?'

Manya recalled the painful past, the day when Rishabh left them all alone.

Flashback start...

She was out with Prerna. When they came back to the Bajaj Mansion, they were surprised to see the Bajajs, Basu and Sharmas gathering in the hall.

All looked lifeless.

Sandhya looked like a statue. Veena weeped. Suman was trying her best to consoled her Sasuma. Anurag was crying, and his Mom tried in vain to console him. Almost everyone had bloodshot eyes.

' Ma...Kya hua??? Aap ro kyun rhi ho?' Manya asked Sandhya and Prerna asked Veena.

Nivedita and Anupam looked at each other.

'Aap kuchh bol kyun nhi rhi Hain? Bhaiya, Nivi Di, Anupam Da, Kya hua hai?' asked Prerna, frantically.

There was pin drop silence in the hall for the next few mins, until Prerna noticed a letter type of paper in Anurag's hand.

She snatched it from him, without letting him react, even for a second.

It was Rishabh's letter.

Dear Ma,

I am sorry Ma. I am sorry, Papa and Manya. Because of me you all are suffering. Because of me Papa is Paralysed. Moloy uncle is injured. And above all, Prerna lost her Dad. I am guilty, Ma. I was playing with all of your emotions. I can't do that now. So, I have decided to go away from here, to leave this place. I don't want you people to see me every day... I don't want you all to hurt with my new identity of a killer. Yes ma, I am hurt. I am guilty. I was too carless. Because of my carelessness, the mishap happened. Manya, forgive your bad brother please. Papa, I am sorry. I haven't fulfilled my promises given to you.

Prerna...

I'm truly sorry for the pain that this breakup will cause you. It's not going to be easy for me either, believe me. I really wish things didn't have to be this way, but you'll see, by and by, that I'm right in ending our relationship. It just won't work. Someday, I know, you'll agree that it was the best thing for both of us.

Whatever happens, I wish you well. You truly do deserve the best that life has to offer you. Please know that I do love you, and a part of me always will.

As soon as Prerna finished reading this letter, she felt dizzy, fell on the floor and fainted.

Sandhya- 'Anurag! Manya! Komolika! Snacks are here!'

After Rishabh's sudden disappearance, Sandhya began to see Anurag as her own son. Mohini also didn't mind sharing her Onu.

' Okay, now I will count!' said Komolika. She continued,' Go hide, Princess!'

The little girl giggled and ran upstairs while Komolika began counting from one till ten.

After the counting was over...

Komolika turned to her husband and asked, ' Where is she?'

' Sorry! No cheating!' replied Anurag and stuffed a sandwich in his mouth.

' Oops! My fault!'

' Princess, Main aa rhi hoon!' said Komolika loudly and began searching the house.

' Komo Di is so comfortable with kids. She adores them too much. I wonder when she will have her own kids, how she will treat them. They will be spoilt, for sure! ' said Manya and sat down.

Anurag nearly spilled the coffee on the floor.

Yes, Mr.Roy . I want the details of the Sens tomorrow only, at my desk.' she said,over the call, juggling a pen between her fingers.

Being 2 years as the PA of Prerna Sharma, Ananya understood that whenever her boss played with a pen, some plan was being hatched in her head.

After putting the phone down, Prerna said,'Ananya, go through the latest business proposals. After that, hand me the list of the unfaithful employees.'

'Okay, Ma'am!'

Ananya went out.

Prerna got lost in her own world.

Her trance broke when she heard a knock on the door of her cabin.

She composed herself and said, ' Come in.'

With a huge grin plastered on his face, Viraj came in.

'Looks like someone is super busy today.' he chuckled, keeping a file on the table.

' Jo bolna hai, jaldi bolo, Viraj! I don't have spare time! '

Viraj cleared his throat and said, ' We have almost cracked the London deal.'

' What do you mean by almost?'

' There are a few complications...so...' said Viraj, in his defense.

' That's your headache, not mine.' said Prerna and shrugged off her shoulders.

Viraj - ' You are being too mean, Prerna.'

' I don't like jokes, Mr. Viraj Bharadwaj!'

Prerna replied sternly and went out of the cabin.

' School wali Prerna hi acchi thi.' said Viraj, and went out, to the conference hall...

That evening...

In the Bajaj Mansion...

' Mamma!' the little one ran to her mom as soon as she saw her at the door.

Her mom kept her bag on the sofa, knelt down and opened her arms for the little one.

' Kukki!!! Mera Baccha!'

They hugged each other.

' Aa gyi Priyu.' smiled Sandhya.

Prerna- ' Kukki, how was your day?'

' Good , Mumma. Anu uncle and Komo Aunty played with me a lot.'

Yes, Kukki is Prerna's child, the only reason of Prerna's survival.

To save her little flower from the harsh world, Prerna is struggling.

After Rishabh's sudden disappearance, Prerna took charge of Bajaj Infragiants, as it was without any head. Arvind was paralyzed and Manya didn't had any interest in this.

A lot changed in these few years.

The sudden disappearance of Rishabh completely changed Prerna. The old Prerna in her died. She became emotionless in front of the whole world.

She became the ruthless egoistic and inhumane business tycoon of India.

She became the richest business woman of India.

Within a few years, due to her efforts, the Bajaj Infragiants spread it's wings in India and abroad.

All the emotions of Prerna are reserved for her daughter Kukki only.

' Looks like someone didn't Miss me.' said Viraj, with a cute pout.

He continued,' My princess doesn't love me anymore.'

' Popsie! I love you the most!' said Kukki and got down from her mother's arms and hugged Viraj.

He picked her up and placed sloppy kisses on her face.

' I don't want to dig out my Past again, Mehra. So it will be better if you don't ask me.' he said and lighted his cigar and went near the window.

He sighed and looked at the view in front of him.

Mehra thought it would be best to not disturb his Boss. He went away.

Rishabh sat on the floor. He took out the photophrame from its hidden place in the cupboard and traced his fingers on her.

'I’d rather spend the rest of my life without ever seeing you again,' he said 'Than watch you are destroyed because of me.'

He left them 6 years back and here everyone miss him. Too much information in his letter. Is he the killer or he blames himself for the mishap. Whatever may be the case, he should have talked to everyone rather than taking this decision. Atleast Prerna need more explanation, it's not only his decision to end the relationship.

Wow, Prerna taking care of the business👍🏼. But she is changed so much💔. Only for her daughter she had emotions. Is Viraj interested in Prerna? Does Bajaj know what his disappearance did to Prerna and that he has a daughter?
