I think Kuhu is in that state where when you feel terrible about yourself, anyone saying or doing nice things for you only comes off as pity/disingenuity. It totally sucks that she isn't in a place to receive both Mishti's genuine praise and her frank questions and fears about entering her new home. These sisters are so rarely vulnerable with each other and it kills me when they miss genuine opportunities to bond because one or the other isn't in the right headspace.
When Mishti came back from London, Kuhu was ready to pick up from where they left off (and they were in a really good place before she left), but Mishti shut her out of the NishMish attack so Kuhu shut Mishti out of the divorce truth. Now Mishti is genuinely looking for that solidarity because she sees she could learn a thing or two from Kuhu about how to integrate into the RV household, but Kuhu is shutting her out because it kills her that Mishti is getting everything she is losing. They just keep getting their wires crossed, and the writers keep stretching that distance because god forbid we have two different but equally strong female characters have a healthy relationship!
In general, it's one of my major complaints with this show that they are never done pitting women against each other to further the plot. Mishti and Kuhu's rare moments of solidarity sparkle onscreen (not to mention how adorable Rhea and Kaveri are offscreen), but so often their tense relationship is over-exaggerated for drama instead. 😵 I have the same complaint about Meenu too -- a character who had so much potential to be a complex and compelling antagonist was reduced to the most pedestrian ITV plotting. It's a pity that this is the bread and butter of the genre 😔

She has the ability to pull off the stronger, vocal scenes and the subtle ones with her expressive eyes. And it doesn't seem rehearsed. I'm not saying Ritvik isn't good. He has his own style. No brick bats, from me at least; I absolutely agree! The way I see it, Ritvik is perfectly suited for this genre. He absolutely nails the skill-set of an ITV hero -- his screen-presence, the way he carries himself, the romance, the angst, the subtle bursts of comedy -- and I see him doing very, very well. Kaveri, I think, has more range and (as DQ and I have discussed), I could definitely see her shining in the webseries world where there's a much more diverse array of complex characters.
The only silver lining to Kuhu potential turning full-on vamp is that we get to watch Kaveri's performance broaden further! Through all the ups and downs of Kuhu's character, this show is going to give Kaveri one hell of a portfolio! 😆

So true!! Why can't we get 2 strong female characters who support each other? My Mishku ship is waiting to sail😣
Regarding the Meenu thing, I remember the discussion on her character in a separate thread. You guys made me see the character in a completely different light. I had never thought of the possibility of her being a complex antagonist maybe because of the way antagonists have always been portrayed in ITV.

@ bold: You said it! I wouldn't mind if Kuhu and Mishti never share the typical 'sisterly love'. Their relationship before the leap was great imo. It was unique for ITV and allowed them both to have their own space. As you mentioned their rare moments of solidarity were beautiful.
I've never understood why writers/CV's don't take advantage of their multiple 'leads' cast. Surely it's more profitable for them - doesn't it double the fanbase/viewers? Or am I oversimplify it 🤔.
@ blue: It's true - I don't understand how then actors claim that ITV is a good space for women; it's empowering! 🤦
