He have taken a cough syrup and i have read some where while taking this cough syrup person should not drink it can worsen health so thats why he drink alcohol again and that maybe worsen his health

and it also doesn't help he drank the entire bottle. cough syrup sometimes has alcohol inside, so he probably chose the next best thing since he couldn't find his regular alcohol.
