Maybe you are right, it was her maternal instinct, but it would have helped if they showed more of Maya's POV regarding pregnancy. It is just shown that she tells about her pregnancy to mj in shock and when he tells he is happy she also becomes very happy. She didnt tell anything to her family also i guess. She just didnt seem that uncomfortable of the situation she was in. I am not saying she is wrong to want the child but the amount of emphasis she gives on her baby in the present, much more than her other family members who probably were killed, makers should have shown little more of Maya's thoughts regarding it.

I get your point but as you can see, they are RACING through the flashback. Except for Maya's dhulaai and her stupidity , alongwith Antara's cruelty , not much has registered.
