Don’t know about Shakun Batra’s movie and her role in it (Is it mainstream or not). But 1983 and Intern are not centred on her. She wasted (is wasting) her prime with experiments. Went to do B grade Hollywood movie after BM. Went for an experimental movie Chapaak after PV. She is gambling too much, when shelf life of an actress is smaller than an actor in Bollywood. ( She cannot survive like Hritik who can come back in mid 40s after hibernating for 5-6 years).
Be wise like Katrina. (Shraddha is following her. Despite no backing, she is developing independent male audience for herself. They would give her an opening, which is crucial for stardom).

Katrina too had a string of underperformers like fitoor, jagga, bang bang, bar bar dekho,phantom,zero, bharat(not sure??) in the last decade.. this model worked great for her last to last decade but surely not this time..

Bang Bang, Zero, Bharat.. all had openings more than 10-15 crores. (Not giving the entire credit to Katrina. It had popular male star. But she was also one of the contributing factor). Beyond that, what works is wom. That is for every superstar.

Fitoor, Jagga were not her model. (Not mainstream movies. No popular dances. Nothing to pull the launde lapade group). That was her experiments. Now she is back to the safe route. She may not last long. But she lasted this long because, she played safely.

I remember an interview with Sharukh ( Alia was also present in it). I think he said something similar. (Youngsters doing too many experiments early in their career compared to his generation).

Just read the recent news about Rishi Kapoor. Looks like, Intern will also go in the same way as Deepika's movie with Irfan.
