I want like she does give her hand to save him finally but she is unsuccessful in saving him and his hands slips and he drowns and vanishes.. so that's why she cries thinking he is gone.. and let all the past memories come in front of her eyes..

Yes I think she let's him drown and breaks down in aarti but Rudy comes back safe..
