Bengali weddings have a pre wedding Ayiburo bhaat, the last meal as bachelors (Bengali version of Bachelor's party 😆), then there is Aashirwad, haldi, wedding.. Nowadays mehendi also befor ewedding.

I think this is what is what started the big fat indian wedding craze, not against the cuture, but just saying.
