Today, all the BULLSEYE questions were asked and all the needed statements delivered:
Rudra : What games are you playing, Maya? If you have to talk to me , talk about your feelings and nothing else. I am done with your games. I am marrying Anu, now tell me what you have to say.
Maya: Does Rudra love you? Can you marry someone who doesn't love you? Can you sleep with someone knowing that his heart and passion lie elsewhere? Can you live your life with that baggage?
" I am coloured in your colour, Rudra."
"Meri zindagi mein pyaar ki koi jagah nahin hai!
" Gameplan? Ye gameplan dikhh rahaa hai tumhe? YE MERI ZINDAGI HAI!"
Rajeev : Inspite of all the games and plans, Maya, I felt there was a flicker of hope for love.
Nandini : Rudra is made for you. To pull you out from darkness and into light. I have seen love in his eyes for you and in your eyes for him.
Truth was literally slapped into Maya's face by Rajeev and more emphatically by Nandini. She cannot see herself but the ones who love her can. Both Rajeev and Nandini are aware what has been going on between Rudra and Maya. And what did Maya say in her outburst? PYAAR KE LIYYE MERI ZINDAGI MEIN KOI JAGAH NAHIN HAI. If i got it correctly, she didn't say that she doesn't love Rudra. Even the universe coloured Maya in Rudra's shades of yellow, marking her as his future bride. From what I understand, the writers have put Maya into a psycho-emotional state where the line between loving Rudra and going khoon ki pyaasi in revenge has BLURRED. She oscillates between being a puddle of chocolate when Rudra is near her and being a manipulative vixen when he goes away and she remembers that she has to kill Rudra and play Khooni Daayan for Roys. It is so clear in her dialogue when one moment she is all pensive and emotional with haldi on her face and dangg! I gotta kill him. There is a schism of love and hatred inside Maya and she herself doesn't know how it is operating. When Rajeev asks her a very natural question in a cool way that since Rudra's wedding is preponed , what is the gameplan? What does Maya reply in impulsive emotion - Ye gameplan dikkh rahaa hai tumhe? Ye meri zindagi hai! .....Zindagi kaise ho gayee, madam? Wasn't it supposed to be a khooni khel?
Sometimes, when an unexpected and alien emotion takes over us, we have no idea that we have additional colours in our spectrum and we think we are still as we were. That is the case with Maya. Her heart knows it is losing itself to Rudra but her conditioned mind doesn't allow her to accept it, or even look at the light that Rudra has. Maya is living in a SCHISM of her melting heart and her defensive aggressive mind. Haan, Maya ka dimaag theek nahin hai, like Ananya said; but people like her need "help" , not isolation. Help should have come at the right time. Now, it has come too late and the Kill Bill mind cannot accept it. When Nandini spoke the truth, it wasn't the cool and collected Maya who shook her up ; it was the petrified mind who doesn't want Maya to see the truth of her heart.
Coming to Rudra; frankly, the man looks zoned out, spaced out, frazzled and a self-made bali ka bakra. The only time he stood up for himself was when he told Maya on phone to tell him the truth of her feelings and be done with her games. Ananya wasn't there , so he needn't pretend. He said what he felt. He wants Maya to confess outright that she loves him , or else, hella, am going to grow old in a loveless marriage. He is in love with Maya and committed to Ananya . Aadha kachra khud kar liya tha impulse mein proposal maarke aur baaki kasar baaki sab poori kar rahhe hain. THE MAN NEEDS TO ACT WITH HIS HEART , HIS WILL AND WHAT HE WANTS. I don't mind him leaving Ananya at the mandap at all if I look at the pathetic lives these two would live as a married couple their whole lives. As much as I adore this kid, baby, NOBODY IS A VICTIM. WE ALL CHOOSE. It is good that you are good, but take a stand for yourself and what you want. You don't have to be seduced by Maya or emotionally tricked by Ananya to decide what you want. Good looking hone ke ilaawa bhi life mein bahot saare kaam hote hain- KARRO!
Lastly, Ananya. I have nothing to say about her except that she is the last person on this whole frickin' planet who should be talking about self-respect. Still, I admire her gut instinct about Maya . It is just that it doesn't work in the case of gauging the connection between Rudra and Maya. Selective intuition?
Note to creatives on set:
Didn't you explain Rudra's mental and emotional state to Shivin while shooting this episode? Except for his scenes with Maya , he was totally like a deer caught in headlights today. Perhaps a monologue and few flashbacks would have helped. I mean, the kid was blank and I really didn't understand what was going on inside him. Yesterday, i understood. Today, i didn't.
Improve Maya's make up at her home. The decor is dark, gloomy, brown and doesn't reflect well on her skin tone. Give her brighter lipstick ya, otherwise she merges in the fabric of the house.
Secondly, can you please go easy on Rudra ki arthee dialogues. It is getting over dramatic now and sounds so daily-soapish, bro!
