It's abosokutely a game. I don't think she's in any kind of love with him. After every emotional exchange with Sid, she would yet burst out laughing behind him and even winking at others. Shows the true feelings.
On top her behavior in the week they were seoerated, has shown her real attitude and feelings too. She didn't have a game at all. She came back with the slightest of opportunity provided by Sid.
I completely disagree to your conclusion. She's still lying all round to convince Shukla that she has a feelings. I think Shukla knows it well too and playing along for the game too.
